A lottery was held at the top of the show to determine the teams for the main event.
Shun told Maria that she was focusing on DK and overlooked him. He earned his spot in King of Gate and this was proof. He was going to Skywalk his way through the tournament and asked the Kyoto fans to expect big things. Maria never even entertained the idea of losing to Shun. It was a wake up call and will only make her fight harder in Aichi on Sunday. She was hoping the next time she shares the ring with Shun it is in the King of Gate finals.
There were various accidents in the KoG preview tag. Yoshida proclaimed that he was on a roll and when he gets moving he runs down anything in his path. Hulk yelled at him. Today was a tag match. Why was he intentionally attacking his partner? We all know he isn’t a smart man but surely he understands how a tag match works.
Kzy accidentally hit Ben-K with an uppercut that caused him to lose. Ben promised to pay him back 300 fold in their league match. Kzy admitted he was a formidable opponent, but he had his mind on someone else. His first opponent in league play; YAMATO. They haven’t had many singles matches in the past. He’s excited but he is also dead serious. He is going to beat YAMATO in the middle of the ring. Everyone in his block. Ben-K too. He has no other option but to win King of Gate and get another shot at Masaaki Mochizuki. There was a change of scenery coming and he was the one bringing it.
CIMA gave a quick speech. He hasn’t been inside a Dragon Gate ring since the end of March. What has this old man been up to? Since last fall, he has been teaching pro wrestling to a group of young men in Shanghai. In China, there is no such thing as pro wrestling. When he first started this task he had to spend a good amount of time just drilling that a 3 count ended the match. They would wait until just before a 4 count to kick out, then when corrected on that they began kicking out at 0. Today he was bringing two of those students. 19 years old, 9 months since learning that pro wrestling existed, their first match in Japan and their second overall.
Like in the previous tag, there were accidents aplenty in the semifinal. Eita spit water at DK and gave him a Superkick, allowing a reluctant Susumu to pick up the win.
Eita was in a foul mood. Why was he stuck teaming with Doi? Bullshit. Even worse was that midget Dragon Kid. He turned his back on Over Generation because hated him so much. Where exactly was Over Generation? Problem Dragon isn’t here. Gamma isn’t here. Ishida? Yamamura? CIMA? What was the point? They should disband right here and now. DK responded by asking him where his Twin Gate title teammate T-Hawk has been. Why isn’t he out here? Why is Eita carrying both title belts? They will be facing each other in King of Gate. He doesn’t know what hasn’t happened to Eita to put his head where it’s at now, but he should be ready for a fight. As for today, it was obvious he is an unprofessional as ever. This was a tag match. The fans came to see it. They tuned into the Dragon Gate Network to see it. They didn’t want to see Eita get bored and throw a tantrum. He should put aside his personal feelings and finish the match for them. He was doing a whole lot of talking lately. You can’t defend your titles with just words, especially against the likes of Big Ben. Eita better get his act together or else those titles he is carrying will be gone in an instant. He will see him in Osaka for their King of Gate match where they can settle their differences once and for all.
Doi was gleefull at their quarrel. He lives for this sort of thing. He’s in the same block as them and this will only make it easier for him. He was planning on going undefeated. He will be the face of Block C, the standard bearer of Block C, and the winner of Block C.
Yoshino was impressed with his friend being so cool and he was pulling for him to succeed. He was planning on doing the same thing in his own block and going on to win the whole thing.
Susumu warned him to not take the new Natural Vibes Susumu lightly. First, his new team were going to take the Triangle Gate from MaxiMuM on Sunday. Then he was going to repeat 2014 and once again be the King of Gate.
Kagetora felt overlooked, but that’s fine. He likes being the dark horse. Over the last month he has experimented by wearing different unit merchandise and seconding them for matches. He’s finally come to a decision on where he belongs. He will announce it on Sunday in Aichi.
Takagi brought the barbed wire bat back and left Punch with a bloodied chest.
Kanda didn’t give a damn about losing today. All he cares about is getting the hell out of the cage on Sunday.
Mochizuki had some words of warning for Punch. He told Lindaman that he didn’t do much today. If he performs like this on Sunday he was going to end up bald.
YAMATO reminded Takagi that this was a hair match, not a death match. His weapons had no place in the cage. However, his hair clippers did! Takagi is the only one to not feel them against his head. YAMATO has decided that Takagi is the one that ends up shaved on Sunday. He will have help inside from Saito and on the outside from Tribe Vanguard and their brother unit MaxiMuM. Gahahahaha!! 5/6 will be a day to remember. Hopefully they all won’t have trouble sleeping until then. Gahahahahaa!!
If YAMATO was going to bring those dangerous hair clippers, Takagi has no choice but to defend himself and bring his bat with him. Does he understand the meaning of Dead or Alive? You either live, or you die. It is a death match. As for everyone that wants to see him lose his hair…Too bad. It’s not happening.
Lindaman wasn’t sure if that lariat from Takagi was on purpose. Was it a betrayal or merely an accident? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Mochizuki was right about him not doing much today. There is a lot to be said for saving your strength so you peak at the right time. For example, when the siren sounds and it’s time to leave the cage.
Saito insisted that the lariat was on purpose. No question about it. He should pay him back by helping in the effort to leave him bald. He wasn’t going to offer him any handshakes but they should consider having the same goal. You never know what is going to happen in the cage. To protect himself he has formed a tight bond with YAMATO. He had formed a shaky bond with Mochizuki. He praised Punch for doing his best even though he was in over his head. He hoped Punch would consider helping him out in a pinch. They should be allies in this, too.
Punch placed his trust in Saito. With help from him and from Natural Vibes he would get payback at those that treated him like a joke. He was going to protect his hair and then make a splash in King of Gate.
