Kzy said that even though he lost his Dream Gate match, it only increased his motivations. He left Tribe Vanguard and refused to join Antias because he wants to show everyone what he is capable of on his own. Speaking of Antias, he had a warning for them. He won’t forget that they are coming for him. Maybe there are others that have a bone to pick with them, as well…

Ben-K berated Shimizu. This match wasn’t much trouble for him at all. Maybe this isn’t a slump at all. Maybe he has just lost it. He needs to really think about things if he is going to snap out of it. Actually, since thinking isn’t his strong suit he would be better off just trying to run over anything in his path. Shimizu responded positively. He couldn’t believe someone his junior was talking to him like this, but the match showed just how far apart they are right now. This gave him the perspective he needs to snap out of this losing streak. He thanked him and they shared a hug.

Lindaman mocked Saito. Who was laughing now? Takagi was 100x as funny as Saito! Saito was pleased by that statement. Finally, someone who found Takagi funny. This gives everyone something to look forward to for the Owarai Gate title match. Takagi can beat his ass all he wants. It doesn’t matter how much of a beating he gives. You can’t win the match that way. He was looking forward to a comedic Shingo Takagi. Takagi raged at Lindaman for exposing private secrets like that! Under no circumstances will he participate or cooperate in any comedy bullshit. If he happens to win the title he will immediately seal it away. Destroy it. Burn the belt. It will never be seen or fought for again. The match will be business as usual. Takagi destroying Saito.
He turned his attention to Mochizuki. What kind of champion was he? First he defends against a comedy wrestler, then against…what was his name? Ezy? Why is he taking all of these easy matches and ducking the only real challenger to his title? Why was he refusing to give a match to El Lindaman!? Mochizuki was quick to point out the Ezy pun is the sort of thing that would help him in the Owarai Gate match. Yeah, he was scared of giving Lindaman a title shot. Not because he was afraid of losing. Because of how lopsided and bad the match would be. Lindaman didn’t buy it. Mochizuki needed people like him to raise the value of the title. He wasn’t planning on challenging any time soon but he would consider it if Mochizuki would lick his boots. The two sides brawled to the back.

Maria said that Kzy inspired her. While it was sad that he is gone from the group, it has only lit a bigger fire under her. She will carry Tribe Vanguard to victory at Champion Gate. YAMATO said that with Hulk out injured and Kzy gone, it isn’t an exaggeration to say that Tribe Vanguard will have to rely on the likes of Maria & U-T. Dragon Gate has to. Yoshino complained about bring kissed by Maria 3 times already this month. After a pull apart, Kotoka was left to close the show.
This was his final match in Kobe, the city he has called home for 10 years. There are a ton of memories here. He is happy he got to compete here for some of the best fans in the world. Dragon Gate will continue to spread it’s wings and fly to different corners of the world, but the origin will always be right here in Kobe. The fans and their support are the fuel that drives them. He hopes they will continue to provide that fire even after he is gone.

Maria said that while she usually in on the receiving end of abuse from Don Fujii, today she was the winner. Kzy inspired her with his performance in his Dream Gate challenge. She promised to make a move of her own in the very near future. This ended up being a challenge for the Triangle Gate with YAMATO & Flamita later.

Ben-K told Mochizuki he looked really tired. He just lost in two minutes to someone who hasn’t even been wrestling for two years. Surely he would have no problems accepting a title challenge from the wrestler that beat him. Mochizuki was taken by surprise by the attack at the bell today. That won’t happen a second time. Ben-K will receive a lesson in how fighting for the Dream Gate is done. The match was set for 3/4 in Osaka.

★3rd Defense

The show opened with the contract signing for the main event. Kzy was ready. He wanted to create a change of scenery for fans. Mochizuki was ready to give him some payback for the 3 consecutive losses he has suffered. He won’t go easy on him in his first challenge.

Yoshida said Shimizu was pathetic. He has fallen so far behind Ben-K. Isn’t he ashamed? Doesn’t he feel degraded? He obviously knows nothing about pro wrestling. Maybe he should start over, with Yoshida as his teacher. All he has to do is say “Mr. Yoshida! Please teach me how to wrestle!”. He admitted that though he never bothered to learn how to wrestle himself so he doesn’t know how to teach it.

Kotoka thanked the fans for today. Next month is the end. His final match will be right here in this very building. The Korakuen Hall faithful has always supported him, much like they do for everyone. A lively crowd helps him step his game up every time out. He is going to give everything he has left as his 10 year life as a pro wrestler draws to a close.

Takagi complained loudly to the company about having to wrestle Punch and Saito yet again. These endless matches are pointless. He refused to do it unless something was at stake. Saito complained about Takagi complaining. The fans don’t want to hear him bitch and moan before every match. Stakes? Conditions? Fine. If that is what Takagi wants. If Antias win, it all ends. No more matches. However, if Saito & Punch win, Antias will have to honor certain stipulations. Takagi was hesitant to accept without knowing, but his temper got the best of him. Punch is just a trainee level staff member that can’t even play the music correctly anyway. He wanted to put an end to it so he attacked.
Naturally, he tried to blow off the agreement. He never agreed to anything. Saito told him to keep his excuses to himself. They would take their medicine here. Punch Tominaga pinned the Brave Gate champion, so Kanda should give him a Brave Gate title match. Kanda flew into a rage and shouted a string of obscenities. Punch told him that when they were together in Verserk, Punch was on sound boy duty more than he wrestled. This year has been different. He’s a wrestler, and titles are the only things that matter to wrestlers. He demanded a title shot. Kanda accepted, expecting a quick and easy first title defense.
Now that that was decided, it was time for the other stipulation. Takagi once again tried to blow it off, but Saito forced him to come back into the ring. The other demanded was a simple one. He was challenging Shingo Takagi to a match. A match for the Open the Owarai Gate championship. Takagi wasn’t having it. Kanda lost the match. This has nothing to do with him. Saito questioned his manhood. What kind of man sells out his friends like that? “He lost. None of my business.”. Takagi will happily fight him any time and anywhere but he wants nothing to do with that title. Saito told him if he wants to fight him, he has to fight for the title. GM Yagi was brought in to set up the match. Takagi vehemently protested. No one wants to see him do comedy. Saito polled the fans who gave a resounding yes to the match. Yagi said the fans have spoken. March 6th in Korakuen Hall, Shingo Takagi will challenge Ryo Saito for the Open the Owarai Gate championship. Yagi admitted he also really wanted to see this match happen. He will be cheering for Takagi. If he wins, he will have to proudly wear the Owarai Gate title belt around his waist. Who wouldn’t want to see that? Takagi resigned himself to his fate. He warned Saito that nothing will be different. He won’t change his style or lighten his attack. There will be no comedy. No laughs. If walks away with the title he will seal it away forever so there will never be another match. Saito was fine with that. Finding Shingo Takagi’s funny bone was his job. No no-showing. If he wins, no vacating the title immediately. He will be a proud, fighting champion. Backstage, Takagi wondered if forces were conspiring against him by putting him in this type of match right before the All Japan Champion Carnival. If he wins, he will seal the title, rip the belt into pieces, then burn the pieces until there isn’t a single trace left.

When they were together in Dia HEARTS, Mochizuki always found Kzy to be a loudmouth flake that fluked his way to wins every now and then. He’s gotten strong. He once said that “Flash pins are vital to know. If you get the 3 count with one in a title match, you become champion.” Well. You can also remain champion if you get the three count with one. Whether Kzy continues his ascension and stands next to the other members of his generation, or whether he stays at a level behind them won’t be decided by the result of this match. The fans will decide. Mochizuki thanked him for a thrilling and exciting match. He was really tired so he was leaving Kzy with the task of closing the show. It was his time.

Kzy was devastated. He never expected he would lose like that. Never saw it coming. “Flash pins are vital”. That is why he uses and will continue to use them. He really wanted that title. He wanted to stand right where he is standing now and say “I AM THE CHAMPION”. He wanted to put all of those memories of the noisy weakling Kzy to rest for good. He lost today, but he has to find a way to keep moving forward. He thinks he knows the best way to do it. Pick a fight with his own generation. To do that he has to stand across from a certain duo, not next to them. He announced he was leaving Tribe Vanguard. YAMATO assumed he had just hit his head really hard and wasn’t thinking clearly. It happens in matches like that. He tried to ferry him backstage so he could cool off. Kzy pushed YAMATO away. He was thinking crystal clear. When they started Tribe Vanguard, YAMATO told him it was time to become serious. Today, right here and now, he was as serious as he ever would be. He can’t think of them as big brothers any longer. He has to think of them as his generation rivals. Obstacles to his success. Hulk was crestfallen. He cried out Kzy’s name with pain in his voice. He didn’t realize Kzy felt this way. Kzy 😭 Ohhhh Kzy😭 he wailed. He understood what Kzy was trying to do. He would look forward to battling with him, but warned him that he won’t be as friendly as he is now. YAMATO was going to say the same thing he said when Kzy left Mad Blankey. It was time to pay up on his bar tab. Kzy wasn’t amused. YAMATO got serious. There are 5 or 6 wrestlers considered the “current generation”. Every day they are under a massive amount of pressure to perform and carry the company forward. If Kzy wants to be a part of that elite few, he can meet YAMATO in the ring and show him what he is made of.

Kzy was left to close out the show but Antias came out. Eita was gleeful at this turn of events. Kzy was a real dumbass, wasn’t he? He fails at winning the title and decides the best thing to do was quit his team? You can’t accomplish anything on your own in Dragon Gate. Perhaps, with backup from Antias the result would have been different. Eita was going to give him one last chance. Cover himself and red and black and fight with Antias. They will help him reach that next level. Come to the dark side, everyone knows that is the path that suits him the best.
Kzy responded with an elbow smash to Lindaman. He was quickly subdued by Antias. He blew his chance. Now he would pay for it. Susumu & Horiguchi rushed to his rescue and helped run Antias off. Horiguchi wondered why Antias was so fond of completing killing the room like they always seem to do. He turned to Kzy. He is one step away from where he wants to be. Maybe even just a half step. Backstage, they watched Kzy have the courage to leave Tribe Vanguard to stand on his own. They were here to let him know that they will have his back and provide any support he needs in his quest. T-Hawk told them this was none of their business. Horiguchi replied that as the next Twin Gate challengers..no, as the next Twin Gate champions, it was their business to oppose Antias. In 2018 both Susumu & Horiguchi are celebrating their 20th anniversaries. They were wrestling when T-Hawk & Eita were making mud-pies in their sandbox. If Kzy was going to reach the top, he would need allies. Susumu & Horiguchi learned that from the demise of the Jimmyz. He proposed that the 3 of them team together. Kzy accepted their help. They agreed to team up to face T-Hawk, Eita, & Lindaman at the March 6th Korakuen. Lindaman vowed all three of them would be licking his boots by the end of the match.

Kzy closed out the show. He thanked the fans for staying until the end of what ended up becoming a really long segment. He’s unsure what the future will bring but he will do his best to stay positive and move forward. For now, there is next month. His match, and that other thing. Kotoka’s last match. He hoped the fans were planning on a big send off for Kotoka. He thanked them for coming today. He would be waiting for them in the same time and same place next month.

CIMA welcomed Oji to the main roster. This was the real start of his path as a pro wrestler. He will face many seemingly insurmountable obstacles in his career, but if he perseveres he may be able to achieve heights that his brother couldn’t. CIMA wished him luck. He hopes that Kotoka will teach his little brother all he can during his remaining time as a wrestler.

Kzy promised to hit Mochizuki squarely in the face with an elbow smash and become Dream Gate Champion. Antias interrupted. Eita wanted an answer. Would Kzy join them? Maybe that elbow he “accidentally” hit YAMATO with during the match was a sign of his inner struggle. With Antias backing him he will reach new heights.
YAMATO shut him up. He has known Kzy for 12 years now. In that time, accidents will happen. He gave Kzy a hard pinch. There’s no reason to be upset at those things. Eita asked for a handshake. Kzy gave a long pause….then delivered an elbow smash! No matter how many times they ask, the answer will always be the same. No. Don’t let the door hit you on the way back. T-Hawk told him he will live to regret this decision. Kzy said that after being slapped by Mochizuki, everything else is easy. He will seize this chance and create a shake up.

Dragon Kid made a surprise appearance after intermission. He announced he would return to action sometime in February. He promised Kobe he would be back in time for the February 20 Sambo Hall show.

Punch blamed Takagi for his life being in shambles. He wants Takagi to experience the hell he goes through. Takagi told him that he should follow Kotoka’s example and retire. He told Saito to give it up too. He sees no value in continuing this pointless feud. Saito demanded a rematch after the inconclusive ending today. Takagi declined, unless Saito & Punch were willing to put something at stake. Saito made the same demands. Both sides brawled to the back.

Horiguchi celebrated his first main event win in awhile. He talked about his failed attempt on the Brave Gate. Susumu failed in his Dream Gate bid. Dragon Gate isn’t all about singles titles, though. Maybe together, he and Susumu could find success. They challenged T-Hawk and Eita to a Twin Gate title match. T-Hawk declined. It would take more than one fluke win to earn a title match. Horiguchi told him that as a 20 year veteran, he has a lot more than the Backslide. Maybe T-Hawk and Eita are scared they will lose to two old men. Or maybe they just won’t defend against bald people. GM Yagi took great exception to this possibility. Were they rejecting this challenge due to prejudice against bald people?? T-Hawk was tired of the jokes so he accepted the challenge. The match was set for the second night of Champion Gate in Osaka on 3/4. Mochizuki left Lindaman with some words of warning. Should he succeed against Kzy, there would be nothing left for him to do but settle things with Lindaman. He’s been wrestling longer than Lindaman has been alive.

Antias attacked Susumu and Referee Yagi to force the disqualification in the second match. Eita ran down Susumu and the other ex-Jimmyz for not doing anything of note since their breakup. They were better off just leaving forever. Horiguchi came out. He wondered what kind of unit Antias were. Every time they get in trouble the others come running to cause a dq. After some arguing over tomorrow’s main event, T-Hawk demanded MaxiMuM come out for their scheduled match.

Kzy & Mochizuki had a confrontation over their upcoming Dream Gate title match. Kzy now has three wins over him. When he wins the title, everyone will know it is no fluke. Mochizuki was happy that Kzy was in perfect form and he can’t wait to finally go 1 on 1 for the title.
Antias came out. Lindaman taunted Mochizuki for losing again. Has he even won a match this year? What does this say about Dragon Gate that such a man is their top champion? Eita interjected. He again offered backup to Kzy in the Dream Gate match. With help from Antias would make winnin the title a cinch. Kzy rejected him. Eita told him to think it over and get back to him tomorrow. Kzy said that taking the easy route was of no interest to him. The point of a challenge is being able to pass it by your own ability. He also no interest in going to any group that follows the same path as the likes of Shingo Takagi. He asked the fans to look forward to the change of scenery he was going to bring.

Takagi gloated over his win, but admitted that beating Kotoka wasn’t much to be proud of. MaxiMuM are in shambles. Kotoka sucks. Shimizu & Ben-K are always injured. Now Yoshino is suddenly claiming he has the flu? This is the first Kobe show of 2018 and he blows it off because has the sniffles? Unprofessional. They should just forfeit the Triangle Gate now. Doi admitted that the group wasn’t in the best shape. They probably should vacate the titles……NOT. Takagi was enraged. Yoshino will wish he only had the flu when Antias is done with him.

Kotoka closed the show by announcing his retirement from wrestling on 3/6 at Korakuen Hall. He thanked the fans for supporting him and walking with him on his 10 year journey. He will be eternally grateful.
Doi told him he will be a maximum member until the very end, but wants him to leave with no regrets. He is welcome to team with anyone he wishes and even fight against MaxiMuM if he wants to. He encouraged him to keep his head high and go out in his own terms. Kotoka said he will compete on all shows between now and 3/6 so he can see as many fans as he can. In these remaining 20 or so matches he wants to see the fans smile. He asked the fans to also look forward to tomorrow where he will team with his little brother Oji for the first time. He hopes the fans will cheer for him and continue to support Dragon Gate in the future.

MaxiMuM opened the show with a greeting. Doi congratulated himself for being a part of the Triangle Gate winning team in Fukuoka. Yoshino told him not to congratulate yourself. Doi said no one else had said it to him. Yoshino got the crowd to say it. Doi thanked them and joked that it was 100% a solo effort.

Ben-K picked up a another big win. This Ben-K was not the Ben-K we all saw in 2017. Age and career length are irrelevant. For the sake of Dragon Gate he has to force his way to the top. Antias came out for a confrontation. T-Hawk got into a shoving match with Ben-K. He introduced the new and improved unit to the fans. Verserk was no more, they are now Antias. Lindaman ripped on Shimizu for his losing streak. Were they serious about putting someone in such a state in the main event against a group as powerful as Antias? His stupid mohawk, his oversized body, and no brains. Doi had already forgotten their unit name. An-what? Anti-aging? Anchovy garlic? It’s a dumb name! Were they serious about letting T-Hawk, Eita, & Lindaman carry the group? Particularly Lindaman. He thinks changing to a different name will make them appear stronger? He should probably consider changing his own name. El Lindaman was something you call a kid or a pet. Doi fired up Shimizu who told Lindaman he would shut him up for good in the main event. MaxiMuM isn’t just DoiYoshi and he would prove it.
Lindaman was flustered by what Doi said so he demanded Hulk & U-T come out and become the first Tokyo victims of the mighty Antias.

A chair got into the ring during Takagi vs. Tominaga. Tominaga used it repeatedly with little effect. He also attacked the referee, forcing the DQ. He doesn’t care about Verserk or Antias or anything else. Shingo Takagi was going to pay for his sins. He went after Takagi again, and they brawled backstage. Takagi was critical. He told the company that just putting Tominaga in matches will lower the reputation of the entire organization. He was going to repeat something he heard while competing on the Riki Choshu produced show on Sunday. Punch Tominaga, you fucking suck. You should give up wrestling before you get killed. If that doesn’t happen by the time they meet again, Takagi will be the one that does the honors.

CIMA, Gamma, & Fujii dressed as perverted old men, calling their team the S&M Machine Guns. Gong Kids was held as usual. After the match, CIMA said he hoped it set a proper tone for what is to come in 2018. Maybe the S&M Machine Guns could even challenge for the Triangle Ga(y)te. He segued to the next match. It will be an America vs. Mexico International Tag Team match. Flamita, of course needs no introduction. His partner is called Bandido. CIMA first saw him about two years ago, this is his first time in Japan. On the other side is Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz. They are here via recommendation from Ricochet himself. CIMA wanted to give all four a chance to come out and show what they can do. He hopes the fans will enjoy it.

Kzy celebrated yet another victory. This time it was different. Why? Because the man he pinned was Masaaki Mochizuki. The crowd got hot as soon as he said it, knowing what was next. He challenged Mochizuki to a Dream Gate title match. Mochizuki told him he has seen his winning streak and his momentum, but he had dismissed him as all talk with an over reliance on fluke flash pins. Today was neither of those things. He hit him right in the jaw and pinned him. The fans want it and he has earned it. His challenge was accepted. GM Yagi set the match for the 2/7 Korakuen. Mochizuki reminded him that while he might be feeling pretty good right now, this was just a tag match. YAMATO also contributed a very very small amount of damage. Next time, it will be 1 on 1. Kzy admitted that a lot of people probably felt about him the same as Mochizuki did. They weren’t wrong. It doesn’t matter how long it takes to arrive. Kzy has arrived. He was time for a change of scenery, and he was going to be the one to do it.

Antias kept up the attack on MaxiMuM after the main event, while Lindaman berated Shimizu. Tribe Vanguard came out to run them off. They weren’t here to save MaxiMuM. They still have a bone to pick with them after they took the Triangle Gate titles in Fukuoka. They were here today for Antias. They wanted payback for the loss in Kyoto on opening day. Since Doi was out here already, this brings up a question. Who exactly gave them permission to so casually throw away the Verserk name that YAMATO & Doi created? They lost sleep thinking of that name. How dare they just kill it off like that! Doi was flustered by the sudden reminder of their past friendship so he demanded to know why Tribe came out to help. No one asked them. YAMATO reiterated that they weren’t here to help anyone. They were here to pick a fight, MaxiMuM getting rescued was just a side effect. They should act a little more grateful. Lindaman protested. Antias won the match, they should get the spotlight. YAMATO informed him that people had already forgotten and moved on from that.
Things escalated until eventually all sides agreed to a 3 way 6 man tag match at the 2/7 Korakuen. YAMATO selected Hulk & Flamita as his partners. T-Hawk said the Verserk team wo….Wait, Verserk? YAMATO & Yoshino lead a loud Verserk chant. T-Hawk tried to recover from this fatal error, only managing to say “Our team will be T-Hawk, Eita, & Linda”. Ben-K tackled him to reveal himself as the third member of MaxiMuM with Doi & Yoshino.

Eita said that Antias would win no matter who their opponents were. He changed subjects to Kzy. Congratulations on the Dream Gate title shot. Maybe by then, he will have accepted the invitation to Antias. If that happens, he can be confident in knowing they he will have full backup for the match….

MaxiMuM were left to close the show. They made fun of T-Hawk for his gaffe. They also wondered if the Antias t-shirts were printed backwards by mistake. They talked about the MaxiMuM expedition to Hong Kong, where Shimizu managed to gain 5kg in 2 days. They finished things out asking the fans to look forward to what is in store next month and ahead in 2018.

Kzy continued his run of form. He’s 2-0 so far this year. If anyone wants to try and stop him, he’d love to see them try. Expect big things from him this year.

Ben-K also repeated his statement from yesterday. He has to push his way to the top for the sake of Dragon Gate and its future. He has a plan. Like Kzy. He asked the fans to expect big things.

Eita introduced Antias to Osaka. He once again noted that they were very interested in recruiting Kzy.

Lindaman used his bull rope on Mochizuki and attacked Mr. Nakagawa when he tried to stop it, leading to the dq. Lindaman said he had been beaten and mocked by Mochizuki at every turn in 2017. He was going to turn the tables this year. Mochizuki wasn’t impressed. If Lindaman was coming for him, that meant he was coming for the Dream Gate. He just isn’t up to par for that sort of thing. When YAMATO and his generation came for him they put up much more of a fight. More arguing lead to a huge brawl.

Doi once again made fun of the Antias name. Anti-aging? It’s a dumb name. Were they really serious about this? Do they really think that T-Hawk, Eita, & Lindaman were enough to carry a unit? Particularly Lindaman. Giving the unit a new name isn’t going to instantly make them a strong group. Especially when the name is so dumb. Not really a surprise from someone who named himself El Lindaman.
The two sides had a back and forth about their upcoming match at Korakuen Hall. Lindaman pointed out Shimizu losing today. Shimizu & Ben-K were as stupid as they are big. In Korakuen, Doi & Yoshino will see the difference between Young MaxiMuM and Young Antias.

The former Verserk revealed their new name is ANTIAS. Eita, T-Hawk, & El Lindaman will be the focus of the group. Takagi, Yoshida, & Kanda will provide support and experience for them.

Takagi ran down Doi for losing in the first match of the year. Was he still hungover from the holidays? He is a Triangle Gate champion. MaxiMuM should just hand over the titles now if this is the kind of performance he was going to put in. Doi admitted defeat today, but it was a non-title match. If they want the Triangle Gate titles they can fight for them. Antias already hold the Brave & Twin Gate title belts. They would be more than happy to add the Triangle Gate to their trophy case. He told Doi to shine the belts up real nice for them. Doi said their name was stupid and hard to remember. What was it again? Anti-aging? MaxiMuM is a much cooler name. He told the fans to look forward to big things from MaxiMuM in 2018.

Kzy said there was no stopping his momentum. Last year was one of transformation. This year will be about progression. Anyone who wants to try and stop him was welcome to try.

Ben-K said that the future of Dragon Gate is dependent on them, no, him charging straight to the top.

Eita ripped on Tribe Vanguard for starting the year in such a sluggish state. Well. Some of them. Not Kzy. He was still on fire. Maybe he would like a change of scenery. He would make a nice addition to Antias. The year was still new. He should carefully consider his options for the year. He ripped on the fans for their lack of reaction. Why did they even come to the show if they were going to sit quietly with such a happy ending going on in the ring. Lindaman said that even idiots like the Kyoto fans can see that Antias is the center of Dragon Gate now. Not just Kyoto, but the dumbass fans all over Japan. Get used to seeing Antias ruling the ring.

CIMA & Over Generation opened the show with Gong Kids and a speech. Last year on this show, CK-1 defeated Takagi & T-Hawk to defend the Twin Gate. Unfortunately, DK injured his knee and they couldn’t do the same this year. Susumu stepped in to join him in getting revenge on that traitor Eita and giving the Fukuoka fans a Christmas present.

Saito & Mochizuki had their pre-match confrontation. Saito said that no matter how many times Mochizuki kicks him he will not fall. Even if he is kicked right in the face, he will be the one standing tall as champion at the end. Mochizuki recalled the last time he was in the Final Gate main event. It was 6 years ago and he lost. That won’t happen this time. He promised to win.

Verserk interfered heavily to help Kanda win the Brave Gate. Kagetora lost the Jimmyz, now he has lost his title. He has nothing left. Kanda asked for hair clippers so he could also take what was left of his hair, but Referee Yagi tackled him. He clearly still doesn’t understand how important hair was. He won the title, that should be enough for today. Kanda was irritated at Yagi getting in his way again. Whatever. He is the new Brave Gate champion. His defense record will soon be as long as his hair is. Backstage, Kagetora questioned what kind of champion Kanda will be since he clearly can’t win without help. Their feud isn’t over. Kanda called the belt a piece of trash. He doesn’t particularly care about it but challenged anyone to come and try and take it from him.

Takagi claimed another easy win. Shimizu & Ben will never reach the top because they are utterly predictable. Everyone has them figured out. Get out of the ring. Verserk has cemented their spot as the top unit of 2017. Kanda won the Brave Gate fair and square. Takagi & Yoshida coasted to victory here. Later on, T-Hawk & Eita would win the Twin Gate. The fans should get used to it and learn to love it.

Takehiro Yamamura appeared after intermission to talk about his injury. Right here in Hakata back on October 1st, he took a bad bump on his back and was briefly paralyzed from the neck down. He was initially diagnosed with a spinal concussion. After re-examination it was revealed that he actually suffered a dislocation of the 1st cervical vertebrae. He still has numbness in his hands. The doctors have told him that a comeback is currently not possible and he should start to consider his options for life after wrestling. He refuses to give up. He is only 22 so he time is on his side. It may take a very long time but as long as there is even a tiny chance he can come back he will fight to make it happen. He hopes the fans will wait for him.

Backstage, MaxiMuM talked about finally bringing some success to the unit. Doi talked about being nervous before the match in a way he hasn’t been in a long time. Yoshino said he has never been so happy to be Triangle Gate champion. They planned on raising the value of the titles to new heights.

Verserk ruled the ring after the Twin Gate match. Eita was especially annoying. CIMA had the nerve to call them B class. That must make these old fucks D class. Their time is over. They are finished. Young Verserk are the ones that dictate the direction of Dragon Gate now. He turned his attention to Punch. He does nothing but mess up and hold the unit back. He doesn’t deserve to be a member anymore. They attacked him. Backstage, he was officially kicked out. T-Hawk announced that Verserk would be undergoing major changes. The Young Verserk trio were taking control. The veteran trio of Takagi, Kanda, & Yoshida will provide background support. To commemorate this, Verserk will undergo a name change in 2018.

Mochizuki praised and thanked Saito for the match. He recalled their first Dream Gate title match back in 2005, right here in Hakata. Saito has come so far since then. He got good enough to become champion himself. After that, he decided to pursue the less serious path. That isn’t a bad thing. Having fun is very important. Mochizuki knows better than anyone that Saito is still capable of bringing it in important matches. He expects Saito to one day stand as champion again. Mochizuki asked him to help close out the show. Together, they thanked the fans for their support in 2017. Saito said he will remember all of their faces and expects to see them in Hakata Star Lanes in February.

Backstage, Takagi & Saito had another confrontation. Takagi called him a loser and told him to vacate the Owarai Gate title. He also complained about Saito having the ex-Jimmyz at ringside. They were disbanded. They shouldn’t be allowed to associate with one another. Takagi said he was looking forward to 2018 so he could finally put an end to their war.

The heavily depleted Over Generation held Gong Kids at the top of the show. Ishida had just turned 22 the previous day. The kid was 11 years old. Ishida noted it was just half of his age, prompting the 44 year old Gamma to say the same about Ishida. Problem Dragon is not 88, though.

Takagi had enough of Punch being useless and gave him a lariat. This set up the win for Ichikawa. Takagi then blamed the loss on Punch. He wondered why Saito was doing more comedy bullshit right before a Dream Gate title match. Was he planning on being a Dream & Owarai double champion? Dragon Gate would become the laughingstock of the industry. Takagi isn’t worried, though. He asked Saito to wrestle just like he did today and try not to die at the hands of Mochizuki. Saito told him they didn’t lose because of Punch. It was because of him! Being Dream & Owarai champion doesn’t sound like a bad idea to him. Takagi was put in various situations today and was actually entertaining for the first time in ages. The Owarai Gate is an important title. Maybe after he wins the Dream Gate to become a double champion, Takagi can come and challenge for both them. Their feud wasn’t over. They were going to meet again in 2018.

Kzy was tired of being overlooked. He was a part of the Triangle Gate champion team but when talking about the current generation all you ever hear about is YAMATO, Doi, Hulk, Takagi, or Yoshino. It was time to change that. He has come a long way in 2017 and he is planning on making 2018 even bigger.

Verserk ruled the ring after the main event. Lindaman and Young Verserk were going to run things next year. Eita focused on Susumu. Where was his beloved CIMA? Before a Twin Gate title match he wasn’t even in the country! He ran away to China. It doesn’t really matter though. Susumu was here and he was going to get a receipt from the last Korakuen where he attacked Eita. Susumu gave him a lariat. CIMA didn’t need to be here. His experience is beyond anything you punks could imagine. He will be ready in Fukuoka. Together, they are going to fuck you up.

Doi did some banter with Susumu and about Final Gate. He called out the roster to throw out signed balls to the fans and give a year-ending message.

Doi’s was, HE IS ABSOLUTELY UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DOING DOI DARTS NEXT YEAR.
Yoshino started the year with a bad injury. He hopes to overcome more challenges next year.
Shimizu gave a big thank you.
Ben-K said that he was Ben-K.
Jason spoke Chinese.
Hyo was going to try his best to have a lot of matches in Korakuen Hall next year.
Ichikawa also was going to reverse the trend of not wrestling in Tokyo very often.
Horiguchi said that next year was his (and Ichikawas’) 20th anniversary. To celebrate he would finally be getting a hair transplant!
Kagetora finally won the Brave Gate this year and intended on defending it through 2018.
Saito looked forward to seeing all the fans again next year….as Dream & Owarai Gate double champion
Susumu will also celebrate his 20th anniversary next year. Nothing is set in stone right now, but he was hoping to have a homecoming show in Yokosuka next year.

Takagi claimed an easy victory. Was this the best Shimizu had? He had something to tell him. Ben-K as well. They are weak minded. Spineless. If they don’t grow a backbone they will never survive in wrestling. He called on the company to change the Takagi & Yoshida vs. Big Ben match to the dark match. Yoshida agreed. They were clearly on a different level. The difference would be apparent in Fukuoka. Shimizu said that even though they lost both matches today, MaxiMuM won’t go down again so easily. There is payback coming their way. The future of Dragon Gate is reliant on them getting their act together.

Eita was annoying, as usual. CIMA & Susumu were probably happy Kagetora lost. Where is that idiot Dragon Kid anyway? Injured? Good. CIMA was next. It was time for CIMA to go. CIMA said that Christmas was coming. Even though Verserk wears Santa colors, in Fukuoka there would be a blue Santa & a purple Santa bringing joy to everyone. Eita had done nothing but disparage DK & Yamamura. Keep their names out of your mouth, Eita. Losing to him & T-Hawk was not an option. Like CK-1, CIMASuka have 20 years of experience together. How long do T&E have? In fact, how old are they? CIMA & Susumu have been in the ring together since they were in grade school. They are nothing but punks. They are B-tier. Shingo? Well. Sure. He is A-tier, but don’t take that as a compliment. CIMA & his peers are S class. As for Kanda; what class do people who have to wrestle in a t-shirt fall into? Kagetora called him Economy Class. Hey, Economy Kanda, listen up. The things he has done to Kagetora over the last month or so are unforgivable. There was only one result possible in Fukuoka, Kagetora will walk out still as Brave Gate champion. CIMA & Susumu were also going to take the Twin Gate, and the three of them will work hard as champions to make Dragon Gate an enjoyable place for the fans.

Kzy celebrated getting the win over Yoshino. MaxiMuM were slumping while Tribe Vanguard was running full throttle. Tribe were going to remain Triangle Gate champions heading into next year. Yoshino actually agreed with the assessment. He apologized to Doi & Jason for losing. MaxiMuM lost all of their matches today. They’ve been trying to take it one step at a time since starting but have yet to accomplish anything. If they continue at their current pace, the results in Fukuoka will be the same. That is why they have to resolve to change. If even one of their matches in Fukuoka can end successfully, it is a starting point. Yoshino is willing to break his neck one more time if it that is what it takes to win the Triangle Gate and bring success to MaxiMuM.

Mochizuki and Saito had their confrontation. Mochizuki said Saito had nothing left after the Jimmyz broke up so he took pity on him and granted him a Dream Gate title shot. He is not planning on losing the title after only a few months as a champion. A few strikes and the match will be over. He told Saito if he isn’t careful, he will lose more than just the match. He will lose consciousness entirely. Saito insisted the high kicks he took today didn’t hurt at all. He should practice his form. Both of them are the type that just approach a match head on. The one who should worry about being knocked out is Mochizuki. The next time Dragon Gate comes to Nagoya, the Dream Gate champion will be Ryo Saito.
