Title & Tournament History

Tanizaki debuted as a 10th term member of Toryumon X.
He originally performed as a surf enthusiast, like Genki Horiguchi. His
rivalry, then partnership with Horiguchi gained him an early arrival in Toryumon Japan.
He remained with the company when the change to DRAGON GATE occurred, making
him the only member of X to compete in DG until KAGETORA joined in 2009. He
abruptly quit the company in summer of 2006, citing a desire to experience
freedom. During his time, he competed in rival promotion El Dorado with his
X classmates. He quit El Dorado in 2008, once again citing a desire to be
free. He made a shocking return to DG a few days later, and he has remained
ever since. After missing some time due to a shoulder injury, another
wrestler began competing under his name. Upon returning, he suddenly joined
the Jimmys. The imposter Naoki won their first battle over the name, forcing
Tanizaki to change his ring name. The imposter got to choose it. He said the
crying Tanizaki reminded him of a dolphin and the kyukyu noise it makes when
it cries. Therefore, the Toyonaka native had to compete as Mr.
Quu Quu Toyonaka Dolphin. The disgraceful name ended up giving him a bit of
a career resurgence. He used the momentum to challenge the imposter again.
With his career on the line, Tanizaki defeated him and regained his
identity. Later he admitted to enjoying the Toyonaka Dolphin name so he
incorporated it back into his ring name.
