Metal Warrior had to pull out of the opener due to "injury". He was replaced by Kzy. However, since Kzy was not allowed to compete on this show due to losing the layoff match earlier this month, he transformed himself into Tomahawk Kzy for the night.

Kong won the early man advantage for BW in the elimination match.

Rich Swann, ever the renaissance man, performed Tonbo by Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi on the guitar, before moving into Kizudarake no Eikou for Mocchys' entrance.

Tanizaki named PAC, the real Brave champ, as his next "challenger". He wants the match to be contested under the same two count rules.

Saito & Horiguchi mocked both K-neSuka & AraIwa. They called K-ness broken down. Horiguchi said Arai & Iwasa peaked when they wore baggy pants, and were no threat to anyone now. They challenged them to an eight man tag. MaraIssa will team with Twin Gate champions CIMA & Ricochet. CIMA came out with this challenge. He asked Iwasa to teach him how to have such bad matches. He mocked K-ness for his constant Injury & Comeback pattern. He called them garbage. Iwasa told CIMA to shut up, and told him to put a Twin Gate shot up in this proposed 8 man. CIMA said garbage can't wear title belts. Iwasa said he was just scared they might just lose to "garbage". CIMA said they were about as scary as a haunted house. K-neSuka reaffirmed that they were back and would be back at the top.

Two more matches were made for the 9/16 Korakuen. Takagi & KAGETORA vs. Hulk & Cyber, and another YAMATO vs. Tozawa singles match. They have been trading wins all summer, so this looks to be the final conclusion (for 2011, anyway). Should Tozawa win, I wouldn't be surprised if it leads to a Dream Gate challenge. A box attack & Hulk wine spray aided the win today.

YAMATO closed out the show by talking about his birthday next month. He is turning 30. He said his joints are already starting to ache a bit more than usual. He finished by saying he would proudly enter Korakuen next month as a man in his thirties.

A quick correction on the 5 match series in Hakata. It is being advertised as a "Tug of War" match. I have seen that as a title for gauntlet type matches in the past. No, indeed there will actually be a rope and an actual tug of war used to decided the pairings.

*4th defense for Mochizuki

Hulk led a BW attack on Shingo after the semi-final. He went to cut his hair, but YAMATO & KAGETORA saved. Shingo overpowered Hulk and took the scissors to his hair.

Mochizuki went to give the customary post title match closing speech, but BW attacked again. JIII made the save. After some arguing and such, it was decided that there would be a 5 vs. 5 singles match series in Hakata Star Lanes on 10/9. It seems like it is going to be done under gauntlet rules where a wrestler will compete until he is defeated. The BW side will be CIMA, Doi, Saito, Hulk, & Tozawa. For JIII it will be Mochizuki, Yoshino, Kid, Takagi, & YAMATO.

Also coming out of today, it looks like Yoshino & Kid will be going for the Twin Gate soon.

*2nd Defense for JIII

Doi came out after the main event, to drop the bombshell he had promised. Living up to the standards set by his last huge bomb, the addition of Kenzo Suzuki to Muscle Outlaw'z, he unveiled the Doi Darts. He was inspired by the Yoshino Lottery and it's method of randomly selected challengers. So, he produced a dart board featuring all 11 members of BW. The three he hit would be the next Triangle Gate challengers. He had two boards. The first one was had himself as 95% of the spaces to make sure he got in. After himself, he hit the marks for Tanizaki & Kzy. So, on the 9/2 Kobe Sambo Hall show, Doi & Tanizaki & Kzy will get the title match.

Chihiro Tominaga will be making his debut on the 9/7 Buyuden show. This is a very notable event because Tominaga has been in the system for over five years. He has gained the nickname "The Most Famous Trainee In Japan" due to his appearances on blogs, and his work in the Body Adapt store.

Tominaga is 25 years old. 172cm, 75kg. He has a martial arts background, specializing in jiu-jitsu & traditional karate. He joined Dragon Gate in 2006, putting him slightly behind those who debuted with the original NEX class. He has been moved to the exhibition match stage of his training on several occasions. Now, five years later, his official debut will finally happen.

However, whether he will actually become a full time member of the roster going forward is uncertain.
AR Fox had to return to the US early due to some family issues. Therefore, the rest of the August series has been adjusted. Fox made a great impression on fans during his stay.

CIMA re-injured his neck while training. He is out of the opener. Saito moved in to replace him, and Kotoka will now face Watanabe.

As has become the norm, Swann beat Kzy in another rap battle in the opening MC portion. Cyber made another challenge to the Dream Gate. He ended up facing off with all 10 members of JIII in an arm wrestling challenge. He defeated the first 9, prompting Mochizuki to accept the match. He didn't arm wrestle, saying his power came from his legs. So Mochizuki vs. Kong for the Dream is now official.

There was a confrontation between the disposed JIII team (DK, G, Yoshino, Swann) and the BW team from the opener. There ended up being a rap battle between Swann & Kzy, won again by Swann. They made a new 8 man tag for the semi final tonight, with Metal Warrior added to the BW side. The loser of the fall will not be able to compete at Korakuen on 8/25.

K-ness will return to action on the 25th. He will reunite with Susumu, to face AraIwa in a battle of legendary DG tag teams.

Kzy will have to stay home for the next Korakuen.

The Tanizaki vs. Gamma BW Brave Gate match was also made for 8/25. The match will have unique rules. It will only require a 2 count for a pinfall.

Kong again challenged Mochizuki for the Dream, but once again he opted to not make his decision yet.

Horiguchi & Saito have been added to the K-ness return match, making it a 3 way tag.

The Summer Adventure Tag Tournament kicks off on Wednesday. Twin Gate champion team CIMA & Ricochet are boycotting it. Ricochet is back home in the US for the entire month, and won't be back until after the DGUSA shows in the first week of September.

PAC is also home this month. Naoki Tanizaki stole the Brave Gate title belt and will be defending it as the "Blood Warriors Authorized" Open the Brave Gate title while PAC is away. His next defense will be against Gamma, who has taken issue with Tanizaki ripping off the Gamma Gate concept.

The Triangle Gate will be on the line on 8/14 in Kobe Sambo Hall. It will be a JIII vs. JIII match.

Cyber Kong has challenged for the Dream Gate. Mochizuki said he would make his decision after the tournament. If it is accepted, it could happen in Hakata on the 21st.

Korakuen was supposed to include CIMA, Kzy, Tanizaki, & Metal Warrior vs. Yoshino, Gamma, Kid, & Swann. BW complained and forced the match to be changed. The JIII team are without a match at the moment.
