After several months of unit stability, the first shakeup occurred today. Shu and Kei banished Sugawara from Hell Demons. Animal Planets seem to saved him. The 2 sides will clash in February to decide the UWA trios champions.
Noriaki Kawabatas' replacement has been named, effective in 2008. It will be none other than TARU.
Magnitude Kishiwada, of all people, also showed up today. He attacked Kondo with the LR. He and Naoki will have a singles match soon.
For no reason whatsoever, All Japans'' Nobutaka Araya is now an Animal Planets member.

2007 has now concluded. I will post my year in review sometime over the weekend.

Tozawa, conceding a bit that Katsuo has surpassed him, appealed for TozaKatsu to enter the Buyuden 2 tag tournament. Katsuo meanwhile appealed for a singles match with Yutaka Yoshie. Seemingly the end result of all this is K-ness and Yoshie vs. Katsuo and Mochi.
Kid played tribute to the injured Shisa, donning a Shisa styled mask and emulating his handstands and moves. Genki interfered though, helping spoil the pesudoPos reunion.
Ryo and YAMATO exchanged words after the semi, and will clash in a singles on 1/15.
CIMA and Fujii reconciled their married couple team with a handshake, after their brief strife during King of Gate. Shingo however refused. MO'z intruded early in the match and attacked CIMA on the outside. The match was restarted.
Both sides went into throwback mode a bit, with old Blood Generation era teamwork coming out, and the KnesSuka packet again being opened.
Shingo thanks CIMA and Fujii for the match, saying it brought back some good memories. All the non-heel members of the roster came out at the end. CIMA called out President Okamura, who thanked everyone for 2007 and told them to look forward to 2008. And so, the year 2007 ends with a party in the ring, and Akira Tozawa singing in Korakuen Hall.

There is some talk about Yoshino defending against El Generico soon.

It will indeed be a Blood Generation (or Waku Waku Fuji land, depending on your point of view) reunion on 12/28. Shingo was formally name the partner for CIMA and Fujii, but he made it known it would not change the new path he was forging for himself. Elsewhere on the card, Mori and Hulk were looking to reform PosHEARTS for 1 night only, but an injury to Shisa ended those chances. Instea, they sent a love call to Dragon Kid, who accepted!
The first announced match for 2008 was also decided, for Nagoya. It brings all 3 names in the King of Gate controversy back together in the ring in Nagoya.

14 Dec 2007 - () - Dragon Gate - King of Gate Controversy Continues

DG made yet another statement regarding the finish to the KoG finals. Fans wondered how an illegal attack could lead to a referee stop and not a disqualification. The decision was made by not only the referee, but with help from Ring announcer Kikuchi and the official timekeeper for the match. CIMA was unable to continue after receiving the hit. After about 3 minutes, President Okamura came down, and the decision to stop the match was made. DG again apologizes for the confusion caused and will be setting up a rematch between CIMA and Gamma to make up for the one left unfinished.

Yes, the actual finish to the tournament was a low blow causing referee stoppage.
Kid interrupted the victory ceremony and demanded a rematch. Gamma hit him in the groin with the trophy, and the match started. A blue box shot lead to the ending. Kid attempted to end the show on a happy note, with what was said to be a strong microphone appeal. Gamma will still go down as the tournament winner of record, it would seem.
Elsewhere on the show (back in reality), a Ryo vs. Kong singles has been made for an upcoming show.

The MO'z/Tozawajuku pants hunting continued today. MO'z again kept up the assault after the match, prompting Iwasa to return and make the save. He re-injured his arm a bit in the process, though. The end result is a tag match in Kobe Sambo Hall. Tozawa and Katsuo will face Kanda and Genki in a Hair vs. Bontan match. If TozaKatsu lose, they lose their hair. If they win, Tozawajuku will get back their ring costumes. Genki and Kanda don't have their hair on the line.

This sets up CIMA vs. Aries for 12/8. Also, a Blood Generation vs. Final M2K 6 man of sorts was made for the next Korakuen. CIMA, Shingo, and Fujii vs. Mochi, K-ness, and Susumu.
Leading in to his DEEP fight, Stalker gets his first ever submission win. Yasuhito Namegawa came out afterwards. Stalker offered a handshake, but suddenly slapped him. Stalker may die in that fight.
Also, that crashing sound you may have heard coming from the whatever direction Japan may be to your location is the sound of Tozawajuku slamming into rock bottom. The pants stealing with Genki and MO'z continued today, this time with fat person insults hurled at Katsuo.
Doi, not particularly bothered by yet another early KoG exit, blew off further singles action for the year and turned his attention to the GHC Jr. tag. NOAHs' Atsushi Aoki and Yoshinobu Kanemaru will be the first challengers. Doi invited Aoki to come to Korakuen on 12/28 to show Doi exactly who he is, since he didn't know him as much more than a green boy. SpeedMuscle also received a challenge from Shingo & Hulk for the Twin Gate today. Such is the schedule of triple title holders.

The bizarre show of the year award will certainly belong to this one. Oyanagei revived Nitohei Oyanagei, his solider character from the early days of T2P. The Bear vs. Go match was an actual judo fight. As for the main event, If you don't like bugs, avoid the footage should there be any. In wrestling we have seen flaming boards, barb wire boards, boards with thumbtacks. Well. The 1000 insect board is a new entry.

2 more matches have been added to Korakuen, 1 the expected KAGETORA/Ibushi match. The other, a random tag match featuring a debuting rookie. This leaves Ken, Go, and Oyanagei without a match.

Elsewhere related to DG today, over in K-Dojo. They announced 2 matches for their January 6th Korakuen lineup. Shinobu will be participating as a member of MEN's Club (his BJW unit) with MEN's Teioh and Yuko Sato vs. Makoto Oishi, Shiori Asahi, and MIYAWAKI. Hulk and Shingo will also be there, taking on KAZMA and Taishi Takizawa. Perhaps the most interesting though, is an original MO'z reunion. Gamma will be teaming with Yuji Hino and Naoki Tanizaki(!), to take on TAKA Michinoku, The Handsome Joe, and the Great Sasuke.

It doesn't look like any of it will be shown on PPV this time around, but SkyPERFECT is still advertising replays of 11/25, so it could still get announced after those finish up this weekend.
