KAGETORA of Toryumon X and the recently shutdown El Dorado fame intruded after match 1, and declared war on Dragon Gate. He will get his first crack at a DG player on 12/27 at Buyuden, vs. KZ. He will also enter the BATTLE OF TOKYO 2009 tournament, meeting K-ness in the first round.

Gamma was again the victim of a somewhat intentional friendly fire protein attack from Kanda, as RH continues to have internal strife.

Tozawa appealed to Shingo to form a new unit. Shingo agreed, and Iwasa also joined up with them. Shingo will lead, naturally. Iwasa will also make another attempt at toppling Mochizuki in a singles match, this one will be on 12/28.

Doi will go on to face Shingo for the Dream Gate on 12/28 now.

President Okamura made his big announcement. As expected, he announced Dragon Gate would be making their first advance on Tokyos' Ryogoku Kokugikan (Sumo Hall). The show will be the first big one of 2009, on 3/22. Speaking in terms of venue size this will be the largest show in DG history.

6. King of Gate 2008 2nd Round: Masaaki Mochizuki (14:24 Shin Saikyou High Kick) Taku Iwasa

CIMA appeared after match 3, arguing with YAMAKong. This will be fairly normal until 12/28.

Mochizuki told Iwasa he would have to start from the ground up if wished to become a major player in the singles division. Essentially the fundamental flaw he was showing Iwasa was that he spent too long as a tag wrestler. Now will have to relearn to wrestle on his own.

A quick note regarding some site news. For the remainder of 2008 and possibly the first few weeks of 2009 I will not be updating anything beyond the main page and archiving. The reason for this lapse is simply I want to take a break. There is sure to be a huge unit shuffle coming soon, so once that is settled down I will resume keeping things in order.

10 Dec 2008 - 03:11 - Shingo wins award
Shingo won the Technique award in the 2008 Pro Wrestling Awards. CIMA won the same award in 2006.

5. King of Gate B Block 1st Round: BxB Hulk (11:05 Referee Stop) Ryo Saito
6. King of Gate B Block 1st Round: Naruki Doi (20:57 Muscular Bomb) Dragon Kid

Kanda and Gamma have begun to quarrel quite a bit, since losing the Triangle Gate. After another friendly fire heavy loss, Kanda went as far as to say he would rather team with Cyber Kongcito than Gamma at this point.
CIMA assisted Fujii in the win over YAMATO.
Ryo injured his arm during match 5, causing the ref stop. It looks like it may be serious.

The B block 2nd round pairings will be Doi vs. Hulk and Fujii vs. Tanizaki. Typhoon and RH are both completely out of the picture, making it a WORLD-1 vs. Mushozoku tournament.

7. King of Gate A Block 1st Round: Masaaki Mochizuki (7:52 Facelock) Gamma

The Cyber/Naoki feud continues to rage on, and will come to an end on 12/21 in Kobe Sambo Hall. They will have a Mask vs. Hair match there.

KZ, winning after a very long time, swore he would stop being baggage for WORLD-1, and would instead be a valuable item carried in baggage ........ Lost in translation I guess.

Mochizuki first celebrated defeating the "Fraud winner" of the 2007 tournament, then declared a Mochizuki vs. Fujii finals. He then provoked Shingo. Iwasa entered here, and swore revenge on Mochizuki (his 2nd round opponent) for causing the end of Tozawajuku. Mochi simply replied by saying he would expose Iwasas' one fundamental flaw in Sapporo. A camel clutch perhaps?
