2009 - FINAL GATE 2009
12/27/2009
Fukuoka, Fukuoka Kokusai Center - FINAL GATE 2009 - 7000 Attendance
0. Akira Tozawa (7:21 German Suplex Hold) Kenichiro Arai 1. Super Shisa{W}, Shisa BOY, Kotoka (9:45 Yoshitonic) KAGETORA, Anthony W. Mori, Mentai Kid{L} 2. Takashi Okamura (0:38 High Kick) Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa 2b. Takashi Okamura (4:36 Failed Space Rolling Elbow -> Pinfall) Hollywood Stalker Ichikawa 3. Open the Triangle Gate: Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii, Akebono{W} (12:07 Second Rope Diving Body Press) Yasushi Kanda, Genki Horiguchi, NOSAWA Rongai{L} *V1 for the Veteran Army 6. Open the Twin Gate: CIMA, Gamma{W} (28:5 Skytwister Press) Shingo Takagi{L}, YAMATO *KAMIKAZE fail in V4, CIMAΓ become the 9th Champions 7. Mask vs. Hair 6 Way Survival Cage Match: Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid vs. Susumu Yokosuka vs. BxB Hulk vs. MAZADA vs. K-ness Escape Order: 1. MAZADA (13:06) 2. Kid (19:32) 3. Hulk (27:39) 4. K-ness (31:30) 5. Susumu (38:48) Loser: Yoshino A guitar wielding Dr. Muscle assisted Sugawara during his match. leading to him pinning the unbeatable Dream Gate champion on PPV. Barring any Jeff Jarrett or Honky Tonk Man appearances, it should be noted that Ken45 makes frequent use of a guitar as a weapon. RH finally beat up NOSAWA for being terrible, but the Veteran Army saved him. NOSAWA shook hands with them .................... It appears CIMA and Gamma have vacated the Twin, but they are still the recognized champions, for now. CIMA & Gamma assisted Kid in his escape. They attempted to pass him a Veteran Army shirt, but as is typical with Kid he just looked distressed over it. Yoshino was able to escape several times, but returned to aid Hulk each time. Finally when Hulk had the chance, he told him to go. Sugawara made another appearance, blasting Yoshino with the Red Box as he tried to escape. Suga appears to have allied with RH. Susumu called out "Saito Ryo", and used the Double Cross on Yoshino. He then escaped. Yoshino begrudgingly cut his own hair, and made Hulk cut a bit as well. On his way out, Yoshino refused assistance from Doi. K-ness closed out the show, thanking everyone for their support this year despite there generally being more bad than good. With that, Dragon Gate 2009 has come to an end.

2009 - Battle of Tokyo 2010
1/19/2009 Tokyo,
Shin-Kiba 1st RING~BATTLE OF TOKYO 2010
1. 1st Round A Block: Super Shisa vs. Madoka 2. 1st Round A Block: Akira Tozawa vs. ken45 3. 1st Round B Block: Kzy vs. GENTARO 4. 1st Round B Block: KAGETORA vs. Takuya Sugawara 5. Shisa BOY, Kotoka vs. Super Shenlong, Daisuke Masaoka(DEP) 6. A Block Semifinal 7. B Block Semifinal 8. K-ness, Susumu Yokosuka vs. Naoki Tanizaki, Masato Yoshino 9. Tournament Finals Varying levels of interesting and horrifying. Hard to not see Sugawara as the clear winner, since he just pinned Shingo. Still, with the SugaTora Combination meeting, and Ken showing up, perhaps a STONED reunion is in the cards in DG? K-ness commented after Korakuen today that he is injury free and ready to go back to the top class again, reminding everyone that his pre-injury form was a formidable opponent. K-ness also hasn't been injury free in 6 years, so many people may not remember that K-ness at all. He also joked about having Kid join them, since W1 turned on him today. Susumu was somewhat disgusted by the thought of it though.

2009 - 12/25 GATE OF GENERATION
12/25/2009
Tokyo, Korakuen Hall - 2250 Attendance
0. Super Shenlong (5:36 Half Crab Hold) Kotoka 1. Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii{W}, Super Shisa (12:04 Nadare-shiki Nodowa Otoshi) Genki Horiguchi, Kenichiro Arai{L}, NOSAWA Rongai 2. Akira Tozawa (8:14 German Suplex Hold) KAGETORA 3. Yasushi Kanda, Kzy{W} (10:16 Skayde Schoolboy) Naruki Doi, Naoki Tanizaki{L} 4. CIMA{W}, Gamma (18:34 Schwein) YAMATO, Shisa BOY{L} 5. Takuya Sugawara (17:43 Shiisanpuuta) Shingo Takagi 6. Susumu Yokosuka, K-ness{W}, MAZADA (21:07 Darkness Buster) Masato Yoshino{L}, BxB Hulk, Dragon Kid Tozawa was pleased as punch at finally beating KAGETORA in a singles match this year. He asked for yet another match, this time in the Battle of Tokyo 1st Round. KAGE refused, instead asking him if he knew who Ken45 was, and that he would be his opponent. Tozawa didn't know who he was, but promised to win the tournament anyway. For those of you that have forgotten who Ken45 is, he is a former Toryumon X graduate (as Pineapple Hanai), Los Salsero, and El Dorado mainstay. He hasn't moved much beyond Michinoku and some scummy indy work since the Dorado closure. This will be his first foray to DG. YAMATO and CIMA argued a bit, finally deciding on their long awaited singles match. It will happen at the January Korakuen. Tanizaki and Kzy brawled during intermission, with Tanizaki mostly naked. This is similar to their mini-feud right after Kzy turned before their match at World. Sugawara mocked Takagi, saying if he is now the top of the company and a former champion, that he should easily be able to beat Second Doi. He went on to challenge him to put the Dream on the line in their match. Doi flatly refused, and said Bosou Muscle will be on overdrive at FINAL GATE. Suga was generally not bothered, and said he would still beat him. He also hinted that he may be the final participant in Battle of Tokyo. The W1/Kid side once again couldn't keep it together, as another Kid powder attack found the way to Yoshino, causing him to get Darkness Buster'd. Hulk and Yoshino were fed up, telling Kid he would be fending for his damn self in the cage. Kid tried to close out the show, but K-ness interrupted, telling him to GTFO, and he was closing it. Kid left like a good boy, but Mochizuki and Fujii then came out to confront their former partner. They questioned his actions, and said if he wanted to see heel, that the MochiFuji team would show it to him next month. They're bringing a secret third person to help out, too. No match was made though, seemingly.
December 24
2009 - Battle of Tokyo
Two more names have been
added to the Battle of Tokyo lineup. Scummy indy regular GENTARO
(officially representing FREEDOMS), and former WORLD-1 assistant
Madoka. This brings the field to six.

He found moderate success, submitting AKIRA in the 1st round & choking out Gedo with the sleeper in the 2nd round. He fell to Prince Devitt in the semis, via Vertical Drop DDT. Devitt went on to lose in the finals to Naomichi Marufuji, for whatever reason.

CIMA, Gamma, Masaaki Mochizuki{W} (25:02 Shin Saikyou High Kick) YAMATO, Shingo Takagi, Akira Tozawa{L} RH shenanigans abounds at the end of match 4, leading to it becoming a 6 man. Genki called out X, and it is none other than K-ness. This not only reunites KnesSuka, but also 4 of the original 5 members of DoFIXER. The face side of the cage match are not getting along. Some protein powder friendly fire lead to the finish, and they argued afterwards. Kzy will be the next challenger to Naoki, at FINAL GATE. Kzy has a PPV win over Naoki already this year, pinning him at World. Mochi will make his first FIP title defense on 1/17 in Osaka, vs. Shingo. CIMA announced he and his wife are expecting a baby girl sometime in the February or March. He also announced, to the disappointment of many a middle aged single woman, the great Don Fujii will be off the market soon, as he is getting married on New Years Eve.

2009 - Ryo Saito Injured
Ryo Saito has suffered a
ruptured Achilles tendon, which will put him on the shelf for the
foreseeable future. This has a major impact on, well, everything.
The RyoSuka reunion was a big current focus, and of course he was
slated to be in the FINAL GATE main event. His spot in that match,
and all the related build up matches has been taken by the ever
popular X. Here are the updated lineups to reflect his absence.

RH taunted him and asked him why he was alone for a tag match. KAGE told them to shut the hell up and said Susumu wasn't around, so he'd do it alone. Didn't go so hot for him. Dr. Muscle came out after this and gave a Mugen/Jumbo no Kachi! to him. Ryo said that even small children could tell that it was Susumu. They kept beating on KAGE until CIMA & Gamma saved. Susumu said since they were busy with the generation struggle, but he wasn't interested in that. W5(3) left without incident, but BxB Hulk stormed the ring. He argued with Susumu and talked about their singles match in Sapporo this weekend. Seems that Hulk will be entering the cage match at FINAL GATE now with his hair on the line. The newly reunited RyoSuka also got involved in the main event briefly, attacking Hulk during his entrance. MAZADA taunted Kid after wasting yet another Korakuen match. He mentioned that since Hulk was now in the cage match, Yoshino would have someone else to pair up with, leaving Kid alone to be betrayed. Seems Kid is going to try and set up a 6 man at the 12/25 Korakuen teaming with Yoshino and Hulk as a team building activity. Mochizuki, Sugawara, and Kishiwada steamrolled through Yoshino, Takagi and Doi at the end, although it took all three to bring the champion down. Mochi nominated Kish to be the next Dream challenger. Kish then said it felt like Doi has been champion for 100,000,000 years. Doi didn't quite accept yet, but it is almost certain to be the match on 12/13. Sugawara taunted poor Second Doi again. Shingo interrupted and also seemed to be challenging Doi. Suga shot back, saying Shingo and YAMATO appeared to be the new top names in DG. He asked politely if he could beat them in singles matches. YAMATO mentioned he still didn't even know who Sugawara was and why he was so important. So it seems the only actual match made thus far is Shingo vs. Sugawara for 12/25 Korakuen.

2009 - December
King of Gate will not be
happening this year. The next installment will occur in Spring of
2010.
The focus of the month instead will be on the Veteran vs. Youth feud. Takuya Sugawara has returned to the DG mat (albeit as a Zero1 rep for now), and will participate on the veteran side. The feud will waste no time, hitting the ground running with a full confrontation Naniwa Elimination match in Korakuen on 12/3. Also on the front stage is the Susumu/Dr. Muscle saga. It has been made so painfully obvious that Susumu is under the lab coat that the eventual end to this story could be a surprise to all. Either way, Susumu has not been on the same page as WARRIORS-5. With CIMA, Gamma, and new assistant Kishiwada focusing on aiding the Veteran army, one of the more promising units from the beginning of the year could be on the way to implosion. FINAL GATE will (presumably) be main evented by a 5 way escape cage match, not the final Dream Gate defense. So Doi will probably face his last test of 2009 on the 13th, vs. a yet to be named Veteran rep. If Doi wins, he should safely become the longest reigning Dream champion on record, surpassing CIMA who held the title for 2 days short of a year from 2007-2008. Doi already is the most prolific, with his V7 vs. Hulk surpassing CIMA and his 6 defenses. On to the lineups and such. 12/3/2009 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall 0. Anthony W. Mori vs. Kotoka 1.
