MEMORIAL GATE 2012 in Wakayama - 28 Dec 2011
The first big event of 2012 was announced today. Instead of COMPILATION GATE in Tokyo's Sumo Hall, it will originate from Iwade in Wakayama Prefecture. This show was originally scheduled to take place last June, but was postponed due to the earthquake. The Tokyo big show will take place later in the year, from an unannounced venue.

1/15/2011 Osaka, Osaka Prefectural Gym #2
-Open the Twin Gate: Akira Tozawa, BxB Hulk vs. Masaaki Mochizuki, Masato Yoshino

Some notes on how some of the above matches came to be:

After his string of disastrous defeats to outsiders, Kong wants a series of singles matches against the top names in DG. Mochizuki will be his first.

The Doi Darts New Years Gift edition will take place at the DG New Year Party in Nagoya on the 7th. The two partners for Gamma will be selected there. The card for 1/8 will remain undecided until his partners are known. As usual, Gamma was given a pass onto the challenger team, but will have to wrestle twice. His dark match opponent will be Shenlong. If Shenlong is selected via darts, he will also compete twice because that is just how Shenlong is treated.

After being the only JIII team to win at FINAL GATE, the Jimmyz challenged for the Twin Gate. Their challenge was accepted, but not as the next challengers. As a part of the BW campaign to take apart JIII, Hulk+Akira are aiming directly at the top members Mochizuki & Yoshino. They will get the first shot on 1/15, with the Jimmyz getting a shot later if they retain. Undeterred, the Jimmyz are aiming for CIMA & Tozawa on 1/8.

Yoshino has a minor back injury that will keep him off the first few shows. He will return for his Twin Gate shot.

With CIMA promising to make his first Dream defense on 2/5, that leaves only 10 shows to set up a challenger. Based on the first lineups, I would guess it is going to be Susumu. Just a guess, those.

*Mochizuki fails in his 7th Defense, CIMA becomes the 14th Champion

The usual rope separated unit MC battle came after the opener. CIMA promised that BW would own all the titles by the end of the night.

It was then time for Doi Darts Christmas Version. This time around, it was to decide the count rules for the Triangle Gate match. 1, 2, or a 3 count. A child was selected from the crowd to toss the dart. They hit 2 count rules.

Mochizuki handed the Dream to CIMA, then left BW to close the show. CIMA said BW made good on their promise from earlier, and they now have every title. The comeback from JIII having all of them back at the June CHAMPION GATE in Hakata was complete. The next goal was the complete elimination of JIII. He promised that by February they would be dismantled. CIMA talked about his comeback match at FINAL GATE 2008 where he was choked out by YAMATO. Still, he doesn't hate Hakata because of that. So, in February when they return to Hakata Star Lanes, he will make his first Dream Gate defense. With Mochizuki defeated, he asked who would be the next to face him and be trounced.

BW posed with all the title belts to close the show, and with it, 2011.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

The Stalker & Karaoke machine team sang Yogiri yo Konya mo Arigatou by Yujiro Ishihara. Swann & Gamma sang Ai Ga Umareta Hi by Miwako Fujitani

Fujii accidentally eliminated himself to give Shenlong the battle royal win. Shenlong promised to win the Dream Gate in 2012. Fujii chokeslammed him for speaking such nonsense.

CIMA & Mochizuki traded speeches that promised victory in Fukuoka. He insulted JIII fans and said they had no boyfriends or girlfriends, and would spend Christmas alone....

JIII & the rest of the non-BW roster closed out the show by throwing coloured balls into the crowd.

The standard BW vs. JIII MC battle came before the DGUSA clash. Mochizuki told Swann in very broken English to win for JIII. CIMA mocked Mocchy for his poor language skills, and proceeded to speak in his typical beautiful English. Defeated in the talk battle, Mocchy simply asked for the bell to ring for the match.

Fujii & Swann wore sumo mawashi attire for their special tag match. Fujii came out after the second match and gave a mawashi to Gamma. He told him to wear it to Sambo Hall on Sunday.

Fujii also approached CIMA after the opener. He told him he was expecting an incredible match, but he had a request for his former partner. Fight cleanly in the match. No rule breaking, no interference. CIMA said a request from the Great Don Fujii was enough, he would comply. Tozawa wondered why CIMA would even listen to an old man like Fujii. There seemed to be some discord between CIMA & Akira.

~Blood Warriors vs. JUNCTION THREE Tug of War 5 vs. 5 Series ~ Sapporo Side~
4. Jimmy Susumu (7:33 Mugen) Ryo Saito
5. Dragon Kid (7:23 Bible) Naoki Tanizaki
6. CIMA (9:09 Mochizuki Killer) Gamma
7. BxB Hulk (11:44 First Flash) Masato Yoshino
8. Shingo Takagi (13:45 Pumping Bomber) Akira Tozawa

The tug of war series pairings were decided before the opening match. There was the usual war of words between the participants. Ryo said he would pin Jimmy in a very jimi (simple) way. Susumu responded by saying Ryo was going to lose in spectacular fashion. Tanizaki & DK traded barbs about the FINAL GATE Triangle match. CIMA had nothing to say about having to face Gamma. Gamma said he had relatives in attendance so he would fight his hardest. Yoshino reminded Hulk that he was 3-0 against him going into tonight, and it would soon be 4-0. Tozawa said it was fate that he would face Shingo, and what he has done to him until now wouldn't compare to the hell he was about to see. Takagi said things went exactly as he wanted, and he would crush Tozawa to give JIII the win.

Mochizuki taunted CIMA & BW after the JIII win. CIMA had little to say. He resorted to taunting the local Ham Fighters baseball team, saying they would finish dead last. Mochizuki closed the show by saying he was sure they would do very well, and that pitcher Yutaka Saito would win 15 games for them.
12/10 FANTASTIC GATE - 10 Dec 2011
12/10/2011 Hokkaido, Sapporo Teisen Hall - 880 Attendance
0. Shisa BOY (6:39 Pinfall) Eita Kobayashi
1. Dragon Kid, PAC{W} (14:03 High Angle Shooting Star Press) Ryo Saito{L}, Ricochet

6. CIMA, Akira Tozawa{W}, BxB Hulk (22:10 Package German Suplex Hold) Masaaki Mochizuki, YAMATO, Jimmy Susumu{L}

Mochizuki & JIII were the opening MC. He said the unit wasn't properly formed when they were last in Hokkaido back in May, so he formally introduced JUNCTION THREE to the Sapporo fans. He brought up that on that stop in town, Cyber betrayed them after less than 30 minutes as a team. Now, Cyber wasn't even a BW member anymore. Gamma was his usual energetic self and promised a total JIII sweep on both nights of the doubleheader. This brought out CIMA, BW, and the rope to separate the two units. CIMA ran down Sapporo and the fans, as usual. He said JIII couldn't possibly win out on both shows, especially without Rich Swann in tow.

The typical arguing ensued, bringing up the FINAL GATE main event before Shisa, Kzy, and the now very talkative Tomahawk traded barbs in advance of their Hokkaido locals match-up later in the night.

CIMA taunted JIII after the main, asking them what happened to that clean sweep they promised. He then promised a BW sweep for the tug of war series tomorrow. BW departed, leaving Mochizuki & Yoshino to close out the show. Mocchy said they were doing so well up until the main event, but poor Jimmy.....

He promised JIII would do their best tomorrow night.

The usual talk battle started the show. The city insult from CIMA today was calling Nagoya the most embarrassing city in the world.

Mochizuki mentioned the Jimmy'z. CIMA said that the simple country folk here in Nagoya probably had not heard about that yet since it only happened 2 days ago in Tokyo.

Yoshino moves on to face Ricochet for the Brave Gate at FINAL GATE.

At some point tonight, Swann managed to abscond with Tanizakis' Triangle gate title belt.

CIMA didn't have much to say after the main event loss, so he resorted to insulting the local Chunichi Dragons baseball team. He said they would finish dead last next year, then BW stormed off.

Mochizuki said the Dragons and JIII would surely win everything next year.

*Hulk+Akira become the 18th Champions

The special condition that Hulk+Akira have put on the Twin Gate match is, if they win Susumu & KAGETORA will have to change their names to Jimmy Susumu & Jimmy KAGETORA. This is a play on the word 地味 (jimi), which basically means plain or simple. BW have been calling Susumu & KAGE the "jimi tag team" as an insult. The terms were accepted, so the main is now Jimi contra Twin.

Doi called out the most garbage team in DG, K-ness & Araken. He said that their junky team with Iwasa were the next Triangle Gate challengers. The match was set for 12/20.

Uhaa attacked Cyber after his match.

As per the stipulation, KAGETORA & Susumu Yokosuka are now Jimmy KAGETORA & Jimmy Susumu. Or Jimi, but Jimmy sounds better. Collectively they are the Jimmies. Maybe they can feud with R Truth now. Mochizuki wasn't particularly kind about it, he poked fun at Susumu for losing yet another name match.

Shingo & YAMATO made an attack on the new champions, and said they wanted a title shot before the year was up. Presumably FINAL GATE.

The next Korakuen is the fan thanksgiving/appreciation event. CIMA said he had no thanks to give any fans in Tokyo. Mochizuki announced that over 40 names would be on the show, and he hoped to see everyone there.

Some matches have been set for 12/20 already:

5. Open the Twin Gate: CIMA{W}, Ricochet (19:40 Meteora) Akira Tozawa{L}, BxB Hulk
*3rd defense for the Spiked Mohicans

The show opened with each BW member giving a babyface style self introduction. Even Tomahawk, who had been completely silent since his character change. He said he would do his best in his first ever title match today, and that Super Shenlong was garbage.

Ricky Fuji then came out to do a live performance of his SEXY STORM song. He was interrupted by Metal Warrior, which lead to a quick match.

After squashing the Warrior, he finished up with CIMA & Tozawa on air guitar.

Gurentai came out, and demanded a title match. It was time for the Tokyo debut of Doi Darts! As usual, a child was picked from the crowd to toss the dart. She hit the non-title part of the board. Ricky said that was not very rock and roll of them, and he brought out his own board he called Ricky Darts. The child hit the "R" portion of the board and the title match was made. Tanizaki added his special 2 count rules, though.

Horiguchi said he would show hell to PAC & Devitt tomorrow in Korakuen.

As promised, CIMA & Ricochet vacated the Twin Gate. KAGETORA & Susumu were watching the match, and came up to the ring afterwards. They demanded a title match. Tozawa gave Susumu a bicycle kick. A Hulk+Akira vs. Yokosuka Ichoume decision match was set up, but Yokosuka Ichoume may have to fulfill certain conditions first. It was vague.

Good Song Tozawa closed out the show by singing I Am a Thousand Winds.

December - 27 Nov 2011
CROWN GATE 2011 & the big Kyushu tour ended today, so I figured this was a good time to do the monthly homepage refresh.

We are coming up on a very important series of shows this week.

First is the BW show on Wednesday. DGUSA phenom Uhaa Nation makes his Japanese debut vs. Kotoka. Team Doi Darts may end up putting the Triangle Gate vs. Tokyo Gurentai. That match has undergone two changes already. The initial Gurentai team was NOSAWA, MAZADA, & KIKUZAWA. KIKUZAWA was then replaced by FUJITA. KIKUZAWA is now back in, replacing the incarcerated MAZADA. The main event is now officially for the Twin Gate. CIMA has stated that he & Ricochet will be focusing entirely on the Dream & Brave Gate after this match, so if they win they will be vacating the titles. KAGETORA & Susumu will be coming to this show in attempts to restore their title match for the next day in Korakuen. CIMA removed the titles from the match after pinning KAGETORA back on 11/19.

The next day will be in Korakuen Hall. PAC has invited New Japan IWGP Jr. champion Prince Devitt to come in and team with him for a match with Maraha Isappa. YAMATO seeks to complete his revenge from GATE OF DESTINY on Kong, who will be looking for revenge of his own for the defeat to YAMATO that left him out of BW. The main event remains in question, due to the aforementioned cancellation by CIMA. Hulk & Tozawa have hinted at some big movement from them at this show.

Elsewhere....Kid & Yoshino will fight it out in DKs' hometown of Nagoya on 12/4 to decide who gets to meet Ricochet at FINAL GATE for the Brave. Katsuo returns during the Sapporo double shot on 12/10 & 11. He is a Hokkaido local, so it is an easy trip for him. His contract with Okinawa Pro ended this month. He could become a NEX, Buyuden, & Hokkaido regular.

Of course, 2011 will close with FINAL GATE. Already set is a battle of DG icons, CIMA will challenge Mochizuki for the Dream Gate. I will talk a lot about match in the run up to the show, both here and on the next podcast.
