26 Feb 2006 - () - El Dorado - Sugawara title capture

Takuya Sugawara scored what could be considered a pretty big upset today. He defeated Ikuto Hidaka over in Zero One MAX on their Korakuen Hall convention to win their International Junior Title. He won in 19:29 with the Shiisanputa to become the 5th champion.

24 Feb 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Kishiwada, Chocoflake

Magnitude Kishiwada will be out due to his shoulder injury for an indefinite amount of time, effective now. He said he would be replaced in Blood by "someone he trusts".....

For those wondering Chocoflake K-Ichis' whereabouts since being killed by the debuting Schwein, wonder no more:

2. Shingo Takagi (Pumping Bomber) Katsuo

7. Open the Dream Gate
Ryo Saito (27:32 Premium Bridge) Magnitude Kishiwada
*Kishiwada fails in V3, Ryo becomes the 4th champion

Lots of news out of the show, biggest of course being the Ryo title capture. Bold move pulling the trigger so soon, that is for sure. Reaction is mixed thus far, I guess time will tell on this one. Kishiwada had a heavily taped shoulder, so perhaps his injury is a bit more serious than originally believed.

After nearly 4 years of retirement, Yasushi Kanda will return to the ring on the March Korakuen show. Fujii attacked him before the match, which made him leave the match as referee (Yagi replaced). He invaded at the end , wearing his old ring costume, Yokosuka Jumper, and with his mohawk intact. He went after Blood with the blue box, chasing them off. The original M2K will reunite on 3/17, taking on CIMA, Fujii, and Shingo (as close as we will get to M2K vs. CMAX now). CIMA at first refused, saying he would only do it if Chocoflake K-Ichi is present. President Okamura said that Choco finally left the hospital from being the first Schwein victim back in 2002, so he will try and bring him.

One other note about the main, after his show of violence vs. Kid earlier, Naoki was not present as a second for Ryos' win.

24 Feb 2006 - () - El Dorado official HP/blog

http://sports.livedoor.com/battle/eldorado/

Currently it is just the dragondoor site with a new header, though. Milano interview remains up, the wrestler profiles are unchanged, etc.

22 Feb 2006 - () - El Dorado start.

The next phase of the door movement was announced today, at Club Asia in Shibuya. Titled "Pro-wrestling ElDorado~NEXT door PROJECT~". The intention of dragondoor was completed with the revival of T2P and establishmet of Kondo vs. Ishimori, so the project was ceased. The name change did NOT have anything to do with the Livedoor scandals, it is meant simply to differentiate the projects. El Dorado intends to be much more active than ddoor was. The current logo was designed by Livedoors' Shuichi Ishikawa. The current colors are not permanent, and can change depending on the happenings in the events. The E especially should be noted, as it's a pyramid motif. This comes is tied to the name origin of the invaders who sought ElDorado in South America. Also, the dragon term was removed to help seperate from Principle Asai. It was mentioned that true graduation could not be achieved if they keep relying on him. El Dorado is aimed at becoming a true organization, not just event. There will be 1 or 2 shows per month, to start.

The first show is scheduled for 4/24 in Shinjuku FACE (called BREAK THE DOOR OPEN), with a July convention scheduled for Korakuen. Korakuen will be held every 3 months. Club Asia VUENOS will also house conventions, and act as the sacred ground (like Chicken George and now SITE-KOBE is to DG). The July show is being considered as the "true beginning" with the activity leading up to it considered the experimental phase. This will determine alignments, angles, and who will be the ace.

Participating players thus far are:
Shuji Kondo, brother YASSHI, Touru Owashi, Shogo Takagi, Takuya Sugawara, Taiji Ishimori, Kagetora, Shu and Kei Sato, Pineapple Hanai, Mototsugu Shimizu, and Milanito Collection a.t.

Taiji said he would discuss his thoughts later.

Hanai (who had the most interesting comments) said he had always been a part of Los Salseros, so he was looking forwards to using ElDorado as a grounds to further himself in singles. He hoped to team with YASSHI and Kondo for skill ups.

Kagetoras' lone intention was to get revenge on Owashi.

Owashi mainly shot right back at him.

Kondo said he viewed this as his true graduation. He sees ElDorado as invaders into pro wrestling.

Sugawara looked to fully reunite Aagan Iisou, with all 5 members, something that didn't happen in dragondoor.

Hanaoka will be making his debut in the opener.

Yoshino and Doi intruded on match 3. Naoki tried to make the save, but hit Kid by accident, leading to the upset. Kid was not happy, telling Naoki he intruded without permission, and the debt would be repayed at Korakuen.
Fujii and Kanda had an altercation after the main, which led to Kanda elbowing Fujii. There has been some talk lately about Kanda making a return, if only for one night, to revive the original M2K.

14 Feb 2006 - () - dragondoor ends, Toryumon returns

The dragondoor project has ended with the 2/7 show. There has been a lot of talk everywhere recently about how ddoor was not a promotion, but an event. The official statement made sure to note that the "Event known as dragondoor" had ended. The concept and name will be changed for any future performance, if there is one. Shuji Kondo has again been a point of contention recently, speaking out against the ddoor concept, and saying he would be following his own path.

Coincidentally... the Toryumon name has returned to Japan. The 4/16 Ultimo Dragon revival show will be done under the Toryumon banner. There is also talk of bringing Toryumon to Italy, where wrestling is currently very hot.

Updated rosters for the 4/13 Korakuen and 5/13 Mexico DRAGO-MANIA shows:

07 Feb 2006 - () - dragondoor - 2/7 Return of the Hexagaon - T2P ONE NIGHT STAND and aftermath

2/7/2006 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall - Return of the Hexagon - T2P One Night Stand
1. LUCHA PRELIMINAR EN CLASSICA
Jorge Rivera (9:10 Placenta) Milanito Collection a.t.
2. PARADISE FOR MAXIMO
Kagetora, Gamma (12:46 Ikkitousen) Mototsugu Shimizu{L}, Maximo
3. KEEP ON GROUP
Shu Sato{W}, Kei Sato (11:18 From Kagetora Intrusion & Ikkitousen) Taiji Ishimori{L}, Little Dragon
4. 唯・我・独・尊・勇・住・邁・進
Toshiaki Kawada (16:38 Head Kick) Touru Owashi
5. LUCHA LIBRE CLASSICA BEST & NEXT
Milano Collection AT{W}, Ibushino, Berlinetta Boxer (27:01 IR2) Shuji Kondo, brother YASSHI{L}, Takuya Sugawara

The show opened with formal retirement ceremonies for the long departed Phillip J. Fukumasa and Toryumon X graduate Gallardo.
Shimizu returned to his orange camouflage shirt costume, after wearing all black in Ring Soul. Kagetora also has a completely new look, wrestling without his mask now. The match went pretty much as expected, with Maximo doing his usual stuff, and Shimizu getting beat on quite a bit. The amount of streamers thrown for Shimizu was said to be incredibly large.
The Satos entered as Shachihoko 3 & 4 but almost immediately removed their masks. They mocked Taiji, and stomped on the old Sailor Boys KEEP ON JOURNEY cd, and tore up Taijis' ddoor portrait. Their heel group STONED was seconding them, and the match began out of control. Kagetora interfered leading to the fall.
Kagetora appealed to Owashi for a rematch from their 9/9 match.
Kawabata and a Livedoor representative came out after intermission. They announced the partnership would continue for now. There were some brief Oyanagei related shenanigans after that.
Taijiri, of WWE/ECW/BJW fame came out before the main event and sat at ringside.
The main recaptured the magic of the T2P era Lucha Libre Classica 6 man tags. Boxer had his masked stripped midway through, but he remained faithful to the ItaCon side as Jet. The IR2 is a modified facebuster. Similar to SUWAs' FFF, but instead of a double underhook, the arms are trapped and the victim is lifted by waistlock. Milano afterwards said he would be returning to the US, asking fans to patiently await his next return.

Ultimo announced his revival will occur on 4/16 in Korakuen Hall. Kondo and the rest of the dragondoor group will not participate. This will be the first Japanese appearance for the current class in Mexico. Hiromi Horiguchi, Hajime Ohara, Kazuchika Okada, Kanjyuuro Matsuyama, Passion Hasegawa, Banana Senga will have their debut here. 2 matches have been announced for this so far:

-Ultimo Dragon, El Hijo del Santo vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Atlantis
-Banana Senga, Passion Hasegawa vs. Kanjyuuro Matsuyama, Kenzo Suzuki

"Dragomania" was then announced as the name for the 5/13 Arena Mexico show. This show will have participation from Milano, Tajiri, and The Great Muta(!?).

On paper right now it looks like there will again be 2 Toryumon factions warring in Japan, the Kondo led dragondoor and Asais' revival group that debuts on 4/16. Perhaps this will lead to another Japan vs. T2P style feud, which was of course the high point of Toryumon Japan.

07 Feb 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Prestige to close

The Italian Connection is revived for the main event, sort of. Jet will wear the mask and return to his Italian Made Car roots. Kota Iibushi appealed to be in the match, but of course was never ItaCon. He will make a 1 time only appearance as Ibushino, and wear an Italian colour costume.

It was also announced that Milano and Taiji would head to Mexico in May for the annual Toryumon Mexico show.

04 Feb 2006 - () - Toryumon - Phase 2?

Toryumon officially opened a blog today. Here is the link:
http://dragondoor-samurai.weblogs.jp/dragondoor/

This gives quite a bit of insight as to what is currently going on, especially in the wake of the Livedoor fiasco. Kawabata is now listed as the Toryumon Japan president, while Shinjitsu Nohashi is running the show in Mexico.
Hajime Ohara was the first player to post, after Nohashi and Kawabata gave their introductions. Good way to give the current Mexico class some Japanese exposure before they finally return home.
With dragondoor seemingly doomed, could we be seeing the next steps of the Toryumon revival?
