Iwasa
debuted under his real name as a 5th term T2P student. Injuries and
unfortunate circumstance heavily derailed his career, sending him to the
bottom of the card. Failed attempts at joining Crazy MAX and starting his
own unit lead him to seek out training in the United States. He got in touch
with his American roots, and returned to Japan as Michael Iwasa. As one half
of the Florida Brothers, he embarked down the comedy path for several years.
After this, he enrolled in Tozawajuku as Taku Iwasa. Even though this began
as just a fork in the comedy road, his peerless technique and newfound power
prowess made him a serious contender. Forming the AraIwa team Kenichiro
Arai, they almost singlehandedly kept Tozawajuku relevant. After graduation,
he joined Kamikaze. Unfortunately, he suffered a severe neck injury that
lead to a retirement announcement. He was talked out of it going through
with the retirement, but the rehab
time kept him out for 18 months. He returned to action in early 2011,
reuniting with Araken. While he retains his spot on the active roster, he no
longer competes regularly. On most
days he can be found working the counter at the DG sponsored Body Adapt
store.
