4. Magnitude Kishiwada, Gamma, Masato Yoshino{W} (Lightning Spiral) Ryo saito, Dragon Kid, Genki Horiguchi{L}

Today was the first card produced by GM Yagi. He hoped to make up for the short card by having an attraction later on. It was hosted by Tozawa and Ono, and was a Dragon Gate quiz. They would play someones' entrance theme, and fans would have to guess who.

Turbo-yan promised to bring his pink friend to Site-Kobe next month. Today was Turbomans' farewell, but he won't be returning to Mexico, he will be returning to space.....

Dr. Muscle was in attendance today, being led around by Kinta.

Ryo and Genki closed the show by having a long comedy MC battle, where they jokingly argued and challenged each other to a hair vs hair match.

No reason given for the absence of Magnum today, he was not present.

Speaking of Mochi, he and Minoru successfully revived their "B's" team today on the New Japan C.T.U. show in Korakuen. They beat Koji Kanemoto and Wataru Inoue, Minoru submitting Inoue with his Minoru Special.

Onodera has been recruited into Final M2K, and will be on their Triangle Gate league team. Kanda presented him with his Gekokujoh costume, and his blue Yokosuka Jumper. Onodera is older, age 26. He has had some fight experience with Pancrase. A correction on his name, he changed from his real name, Masato, to Yamato.
No other movement out of the show, surprisingly.

King will get his Dream Gate show on 9/17 in Hakata.

Due to Dois' injury, the 8/6 IJ Tag title tournament has to be changed around.
Doi & Yoshino has been replaced by Tozawa and Mori. The Gamma/Kishiwada team is now Gamma and Yoshino. That makes it:

28 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - The vacation is over

DG returns from it's 2 week hiatus tonight, with an important convention in Kyoto.

7/29/2006 Kyoto, Kyoto KBS Hall
-Onodera Debut Match: Yasushi Kanda vs. Masato Onodera
-Key Hunting 3 Way Match
Magnitude Kishiwada vs. Taku Iwasa vs. King Shisa

Onodera vs. Kanda is significant, beyond it being Onoderas' debut. This will be Kandas' first match as an officially contracted wrestler since his retirement. With the recent departures of Mishima and Tanizaki, this match is also being seen as a showcase for their "replacements" on the roster. Kanda is too important to not have his unit direction made clear quickly, so hopefully we also get some indication on that tonight.

The Key Hunt is the replacement match for the originally scheduled Ryo vs. Doi. Looking at the participants, it is pretty hard to think of the Dream Gate. Kishiwada is always strong, but coming off his destruction by CIMAs' hands, and the not quite out of mind Ryo loss, he is more the old hand, than the clear winner. Iwasa is a great choice for elevation, if the Tozawa-juku turn to the serious side is going to happen. He is familiar, popular, and skilled both in the ring and in microphone performances. Still, he is Iwasa, and I don't think he has won a non-comedy match since 2001. King is the best of the gaijin, and hopefully this is a sign of him sticking around. He has beaten one Mochizuki for a title this week, so he surely is targeting the other for his.

The rest of the show will hopefully set off the final unit adjustments that will take us through the last half of the year. What becomes of Blood, now that Evans and Sydal are gone? Where do MO'z go without Tanizaki, and Doi injured? Will Dr. Muscle return? Will Yuki Ono finally debut for Tozawa-juku?

24 Jul 2006 - () - Toryumon X - Salsas

Slow news week, so lets discuss some recent happenings in MPro.
As of 7/15, the super Salsa unit Los Salseros Japoneses has been dissolved. They were arguably the best thing to come out of the X class, but they never really had a chance to shine. Being in MPro will do that to you, of course.
Bear (Mango) Fukuda has now left MPro for El Dorado, and general freelancing. Hanai has taken his Ken45 character to MPro. While recent MPro has him teaming with STONED, he is not thinking about joining them. MPro is again doing their decades long Tetsujin tournament, so the non-tournament matches tend to just be thrown together with whoever isn't wrestling already. Despite this, could it be some foreshadowing? Ken is the odd man out of this Aagan/Sugawara/STONED saga, since he has been teaming with KonBro exclusively in Dorado.
Takeshi Minaminno is remaining with Michinoku, for now. To see his new cos, go to the Toryumon profile section. Yesterday he won his match with Naoki Tanizakis' Implant move. They were rivals and classmates. Could it be a love call, or more foreshadowing?

23 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate USA - Results

7/22/2005 - Philadelphia, PA New Alhambra Arena
-CIMA{W}, BxB Hulk (11:05 Schwein) Jack Evans{L}, Homicide
-Jose Maximo{W}, Joel Maximo (14:29 Spanish Fly) CIMA, BxB Hulk{L}

Homicide took Sydals' place, due to Sydal having commitments elsewhere.
They played Dragon Storm in the arena after the show, and there apparently was a "Thank You Dragon Gate" chant.

Short and to the point

20 Jul 2006 - () - Site news

The El Dorado section is now updated to the format used on the Dragon Gate page. Kota Iibushi, Kinya Oyanagei, and Jun Ogawauchi now have profiles, as well. Naoki and Mishima have had their profiles moved to the Toryumon section, after their departures (whether they be dismissals or resignations) were made official.
The comments system may be eliminated in the new design, for various reasons. If it remains, there will be a few minor restrictions placed on it.

19 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate USA - CIMA and Hulk in PWU

With DG Impact officially canceled, the full focus has moved to the Pro Wrestling Unplugged show the next night.
CIMA and Hulk will wrestle Jack Evans and Shingo Killer Homicide. They have also issued an "open challenge to anyone in the PWU locker room", so they will be wrestling twice. If you had tickets to DG Impact, they will be honored at the door for this show.

18 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Dragon Kid added to BOLA

PWG has added Dragon Kid to their Battle of Los Angeles in September. He takes on Quicksilver.

In the future, please don't post news in the comments section, I'm more than capable of it. I do have a job and a life, so I'm not here 24/7. This keeps comments threads on topic.

18 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Triangle Gate, Raimu, Shingo, Doi

The Triangle Gate will be decided in August by a league. Teams aren't announced yet.

Raimu broke his silence in an email to a friend. He said that he resigned from DG, but was not retiring, and he would be back somewhere down the road.

Shingo will miss 2 months due to his broken wrist.

Doi talked briefly about his injury, but didn't give a timeframe for return. His back was injured during the MO'z ROH tag title challenge.

15 Jul 2006 - () - El Dorado - 7/16 Korakuen ~The Creation of El Dorado~

7/16/2006 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall~The Creation of El Dorado~ 809 Attendance
1. Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, Manjimaru{W} (12:15 Manjiotoshi) Motosugu Shimizu{L}, Makoto Oishi, Shiori Asahi
2. brother YASSHI (9:55 Nice Jamaica) Jumping Kid Okimoto
3. 3 Way Match
Shogo Jet Takagi, Kinya Oyanagei{W} (7:21 Double Jet Punch->Figure style Fall) King Pocota
4. Shinjiro Ohtani (9:53 King Cobra Hold) Bear Fukuda
5. El Blazer{W}, Kota Iibushi, Milanito Collection a.t. (17:45 Cielo Perfecto Uno from Shu/Kei Intrusion) Shuji Kondo{L}, Takuya Sugawara, Ken45°
6. KAGETORA (9:47 No Contest due to Seconds Intrusion) Touru Owashi
7. Shuji Kondo{W}, brother YASSHI, Shogo Jet Takagi, Touru Owashi (7:43 King Kong Lariat) KAGETORA, Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, Manjimaru{L}

Kinya Oyanagei appeared before the Jet/Poco match. He has taken on a character from the wildly popular Japanese show Densha Otoko. He appealed to be put into the match, making it a 3 way. So, after nearly 4 years of inactivity, Kinya has joined Shimizu and Kanda in returning to the ring!
The move Blazer won with is a Swan-Dive Dragonrana. Shu and Kei intruded, so the win was far from clean.
After the main went to a no contest, it was restarted as an 8 man.
YASSHI declared the official revival of Aagan-iisou afterwards. Kondo, YASSHI, Jet, and Owashi all put on the old Aagan jerseys for the first time since leaving Dragon Gate. Sugawara took his, but when he went to put it on, KAGETORA (his sometimes tag partner in Zero 1) protested. Suga didn't say anything, simply leaving.
The next Dorado will be on 8/22 in Shinjuku, and will again have a Aagan vs. STONED 8 man. The main story of it is both sides claim Suga will team with them.

15 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Shingo

Shingo has officially been taken off the DG Impact show in Philadelphia next weekend due to his broken hand. He will be present at the venue but not wrestling. Austin Aries has been added to the card.

15 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Update on Tanizaki

The official word has come down, that Tanizaki and Mishima were not having their contracts renewed, effective from June 30th. June into July is the beginning of the fiscal year for DG, since they began business in July 2004. The only other contract movement was Yasushi Kanda signing a wrestlers' contract, that goes into effect on 8/1.
Naoki, possibly, will be competing through the end of the month, but is officially freelance.

15 Jul 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 7/15 Kishiwada, Major News

Normally I would put the results before any news coming out of it, but this story is pretty major. Weekly Pro iMode has reported that Naoki Tanizaki and Raimu Mishima have had their contracts terminated. They will both now become freelance. In the case of Mishima, he hasn't been around since April. He had been healing up various injuries, but the decision for him to not return was made then. The way the report is worded, they could continue participating as freelancers, but that is unknown.

7/15/2006 Osaka, Kishiwada Synthesis Gym
1. Susumu Yokosuka, Keni'chiro Arai{W} (9:58 Double-team Diving Headbutt) Dragon Kid, The Turboman{L}
2. Magnum TOKYO{W}, Shachihoko Machine (6:56 Ryuukon Lariat) Akira Tozawa{L}, Taku Iwasa
3. Don Fujii, Jack Evans{W} (9:51 630) Masaaki Mochizuki, Az{L}
4. CIMA, Matt Sydal{W} (12:19 Shooting Sydal Press) Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi{L}
5. Magnitude Kishiwada{W}, Masato Yoshino, Gamma (14:50 Last Ride) Anthony W. Mori, BxB Hulk{L}, King Shisa

There were several major developments in the ring today as well.

Yasushi Kanda resigned as General Manager, and now has a wrestlers' contract. Takayuki Yagi has been appointed his successor in the GM role.

Masato Onodera, one of the 2 dojo boys currently wrestling dark matches, will have his debut on 7/29 in Kyoto. He will wrestle Kanda.

After the main, Muscle continued the assault on PSH. Tozawa and Iwasa came to make the save! Iwasa threw Kishiwada from the ring. Iwasa took the microphone and suddenly announced he was challenging Kishiwada! King and Kishiwada already were going to have their rematch in Kyoto, Iwasa appealed to Yagi to add him to the match. He did, and it is now a Key Hunting 3 Way match for the next Dream Gate shot! Iwasa said Tozawa-juku was not only for comedy, and this would be one step forward for them.

13 Jul 2006 - () - El Dorado - New ringnames.

Several El Dorado players, more to the point, all those coming from Michinoku Pro, will be undergoing ring name changes. They will also get new ring costumes.

They are as follows (in both Japanese and English)

Kagetora (景虎) becomes KAGETORA (in all caps romanji)

Shu Sato (佐藤秀) becomes Brahman Shu (バラモンシュウ)

Kei Sato (佐藤恵) becomes Brahman Kei (バラモンケイ)

Ken'ichi Hanai (華井謙一) becomes Ken45°

Mango Fukuda (マンゴー福田) becomes Bear Fukuda (ベアー福田)

JKO will go by the full name, Jumping Kid Okimoto.

In the case of the Satos, it could also be romanized to Baramon, and still be accurate. The name comes from Buddhism. Click here to read more about it

13 Jul 2006 - () - Toryumon - UD:CASA?

Principal Asai has booked Shinjuku Club Heights for 8/6. The tentative name of the show is UD:CASA. This might have more of a focus on the current Toryumon Mexico class than the typical Asai Happy Friends.

The Schwein Steiner is a avalanche Schwein.
The King/Kihsiwada match is under some controversy. Reports say King clearly kicked out at 2, but the referee counted 3 anyway. Fans booed this pretty heavily. King has appealed for a rematch.
Mochi confirmed his participation on the CTU show on 7/30.

In some bad news, it looks like Dois' injury is pretty serious, so he will have to miss his Dream Gate contendership match with Ryo on the 29th. The match will be re-scheduled when he returns.

Doi and Jack were both out injured today. Jack was seen wearing a neck brace.
Don Fujii made his first appearance of the series, helping CIMA in the main. Gamma interfered with powder, but Fujii saved with a Lariat on Bosh. This lead to the Schwein.
CIMA asked him if he was Turbo-yan, of course Fuji said "No!". CIMA went on to ask if, even though Turbo-yan will be in match 2 at Korakuen, will Don Fujii be in the main. Fujii replied "Yes!". Looks like the JAM Cup has been changed around due to Jacks' injury.

Naturally, the move Evans won with is a 630 off the ladder. The name means Phoenix Soul. It is in no way related to Fushichou Karas.
MO'z continued the assault on Turbo and Fujii until ... Magu-yan made the save. Obviously this one is Magnum, wearing a pink Turbo costume. A 6 man was made for Korakuen.
Mori and King Shisa wrestled under Lucha Libre Classica rules, with rope escapes and such. It was Moris' first T2P style match in some time.
CIMA came out after the main and challenged for the titles, with Hulk. He will have to go through the the Turboman team to determine this, it seems.

CIMA (23:28 Mad Splash from the Ringpost) Magnitude Kishiwada

-Genki has a new costume. The Shisa Faimly showed some nice teamwork, including a triple dive sequence.
-K-ness won in dominant fashion, first taking out Mori with the Kaishaku, then submitting Tozawa. Good marks for this match thus far.
-Stalker intruded directly after match 2, doing a bit of a Tozawa-juku spoof. He wore a regent style hair cut, and entered to High School Rock and Roll. He was ignored, and they went on to match 3.
-Match 3 has received some poor reviews so far, a lot of them due to Hulk.
-Even in defeat, Shingo showed some ridiculous feats of power, by giving both a Brainbuster and the Last Falcony to Yoshie.
-Kinta referee'd the 10 man. His heel tactics ended up dictating most of he pace. Kanda had the match won with the Gekokujo Elbow, but Kinta broke it up. After the match, they continued attacking Kanda until CIMA showed up. Kinta appealed to be ref for CIMA/Kishiwada, but CIMA Schwein'd him, eliminating that possibility. Dr. Muscle never tagged in.

President Okamura opened the second half with a speech. He announced DG would invade Osaka Prefectural Gyms 1st Stadium for the first time on 11/23. They usually run in the smaller 2nd stadium. He also said that the US was the target for 07. He also announced tonights attendance was exceeding 8000 people, which is a new World attendance record for DG.

Kid wore his white cos, while Susumu wore yet another new one, that had some similarities to his Mochizuki era cos. The match was yet another classic between the two. Kid worked over Susumus' arm, to set up the Christo. Big moves were exchanged at the end. Susumu kicked out of the Ultra Hurri, and Kid kicked out of the World Liner and Mugen. It took a top rope version of the Kid Killer to win.

The last match turned into somewhat of a death match. CIMA brought a ladder out with him, along with Hulk as a second. Kishiwada retaliated with a barb wire board. It was a wild match, with both props and tables used. CIMA was nearly counted out. Hulk saved CIMA from a Last Ride, after he failed at a ladder-assisted Tokarev. CIMA kicked out of a diving body press form the ladder, then a Last Ride. Kishiwada tried to Last Ride him onto the barb wire, but CIMA escaped and got a Schwein. Kishiwada kicked out of the 2nd, but the 3rd kept him down for the finish.

CIMA closed the show by calling fans down to ringside. He told them about his US excursion in September, and a trip to Europe in November.

A 5 hour marathon tonight. I will have more details in the afternoon, if there are any. DG is off until next weekened, which is of course the start of Wrestle JAM.
