News and Report Archive

2/28/2003- Couple new tour dates up for May. The flu bug has hit K-ness now, as he was in bad shape during the Chicken show yesterday. He said he was out of breath while trying to talk. Doi and Genki remain out with unknown ailments, as well. This week off will do the roster a lot of good.

2/27/2003-  Chicken results. K-ness cut apart Kids' Yokosuka Jumper with scissors.

2/26/2003- Received VamoAmi #46 and the Uno, Dos, Tres special today. VamoAmi is OK, the YOSSINO vs. Fujii and the Shin M2K vs. ItaConne matches from 1/23 were really good. The Toryumon matches from the East vs. West shows were also pretty good, although the T2P 6 man was a bit short. Uno, Dos, Tres was an awesome show, I really hope this becomes a regular series, because this is the type of broadcast they really need to have, with no talk and all matches. The program has great production values, and the commentary is knowledgeable. The opening 6 man and the UWA 6 man tag title match were both great great. Get this one, definitely.

2/24/2003- The now annual Yamaha Scramble Cup Battle Royal was held on the 22nd in Mexico, and was won by Taiji Ishimori and one of the Sato twins. Hopefully full details will be available soon.

2/24/2003- Just a quick comment on the Differ Cup. I'll definitely agree with those who are calling the finals a match of the year, but I can't help but wish YOSSINO would have had a chance to show more, since he played whipping boy often, and seemed to baffle the Z-1 guys with some stuff he tried. Minor gripe though. The match between the DDT and NOAH teams was also off the charts amazing, and makes me really wish for a Toryumon vs. DDT pairing somewhere in the tournament. Highly recommended.

2/23/2003- Shizuoka results. Genki and Doi off again. The finisher K-ness used is a leg lariat variation.

2/22/2003- Hiroshima results. Doi and Genki cancelled off today for unknown reasons, possibly Raimu spreading his flu around.....

2/21/2003- This years' World show has been announced. It will take place on 6/29.

2/19/2003- The FAQ is updated. Hopefully it won't get woefully out of date too quickly this time.......Also, moved Venezias' profile to the DF section.

2/18/2003- Raimu Mishima is currently out due to a severe case of the flu, this is why he missed the Korakuen show. Super Shiisa is due back soon, but it isn't clear which faction he will go to. He may join M2K, but that would make them too big, so I would say he would be better off in the T2P refugee group with Ogawauchi and Owashi. The 5 on 5 DF vs. M2K match on 3/9 will be an over the top rope elimination style match (much like the very good ,19 minute one from 12/20 Korakuen). On the topic of this, I finally have some info on the trademark jackets of M2K and DF. In Japanese, they are called E/font>スカジャンE which is "su-ka-jyan". I never could figure out what this meant, but now I know^^. They are called Yokosuka Jumpers, and they are now available online here. Since I know how much you all enjoy it when I give Japanese lessons (........), here is why they are called SukaJyans'. Yokosuka Jumper in Japanese (katakana, at least) would be ヨコスカジャンパー, or yo-ko-su-ka-jyan-paa. Shortened to SukaJyan. There we go.

2/16/2003- Korakuen results. Stalker wrestled in one of Genkis' old wetsuits and came out to "Surfin USA" After match 4, SUWA invited Jun Ogawauchi to join CMAX, but he replied that he didn't want to team with anyone from Toryumon Japan. Venezia now belongs to K-ness. M2K ran in after the main, and it was decided that at the March Differ Ariake show, there will be a 5 vs. 5 Jacket vs. Jacket match between M2K and DF, the losers can no longer wear the trademark fancy jackets. The losing team must also give their jackets away to fans that night. Also at Differ, as we said here earlier in the week, SUWA will defend his British Commonwealth title against Condotti Shuji.

2/13/2003- The air dates for the March VamoAmi were announced, it airs the first time on 3/7, and covers the upcoming Korakuen and Chicken shows. Also, the "Uno Dos Tres" special that TV West Japan aired in the Kyushu district this past weekend will air in the Toukai district on Toukai TV on the 23rd from 26:00-26:54 (didn't know there was a 26:00, but oh well).  This show has the Hakata Star Lanes UWA 6 Person title match which was said to be awesome. (Shuji nearly KO'ing CIMA with the Lanzarse). Ticket for the El Numero Uno tour shows went on sale through the fan club and todays' info@Toryumon on GAORA. This includes the new spring big show at Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gym, which will have the finals. While this show is big, it is still smaller than World (only 4500 seats, should be an easy sellout). The annual May Mexico tour was announced, once again this year CMAX is going. Same time frame, 5/8~5/13, with the anniversary show taking place sometime over those dates. Also there will be a performance of the TARU Theatrical Company, a dinner, and attendance at EMLL shows. The price this year is a steep 198,000.....Call 03-3341-2411 for bookings.  The Gym is looking for 13th term students, and will be accepting applications until the end of this month. Size doesn't matter, but male only. Send a resume and a photo to the address in the FAQ, with "13th term collection" at the bottom. I once again reiterate I do not know the policy for accepting non Japanese. SUWAs' next British Commonwealth title match may be Condotti Shuji (they may just have a singles match with no title)

2/10/2003- The NWA Welterweight title match between K-ness and Dragon Kid will take place on 2/27 at Kobe Chicken George.

2/9/2003- Last of the player data up in the new format. Broken links images fixed, with one new link up.

2/9/2003- Hakata Star Lanes and Differ Cup results. YOSSINO and Ultimo defeated the Zero ONE team of Tatsuhito Takaiwa and Yoshito Sasaki to win the the Differ Cup Tag tournament, Ultimo (again....) with the Dragon Sleeper on Sasaki in 20:27. YOSSINO won the Fighting Spirit award of the tournament. Ultimo said he wanted to meet Takaiwa in a single. Overall this was a good tournament for the indies, as not only Toryumon, but the great DDT team of MIKAMI and Kudo made a huge impression (and rightfully so).  Dragon Kid will challenge K-ness for his NWA Welterweight title for the 2nd time soon, although not at the upcoming Korakuen, since K-ness is in the 3 Way with Fujii and YOSSINO.

2/8/2003- Today's results. Ultimo and YOSSINO advanced to the finals of the Differ Cup by beating the freelance team of Jun Kasai and Gran Naniwa, then the NOAH team of KENTA and Kotarou Suzuki. Ultimo won the fall with the Dragon Sleeper in both matches. The finish in the opener was listed as a Rotation Style Lanzarse (spear). This is supposed to be the infamous Hurricane Mixer of Shuji. He may be renaming the move before unveiling it on a big show.

2/7/2003- Today's results. Genki will be releasing a CD of his theme music. Milano and Magnum shook hands after the main.

2/6/2003-
Received the final VamoAmi of January today, #45. Match list is up. Overall a passable episode, although the 10 man elimination tag from 12/20 was fun. The rest was below to average.

2/5/2003- The ItaConne will challenge CMAX for the UWA 6 Person tag titles on Saturday night in Hakata Star Lanes. It will probably be Milano, Shuji, and YASSINI.

2/5/2003- Fukuoka results. YASSINI asked to make match 2 a 3 way after Stalker was pinned in 6 seconds. El Numero Uno will begin on 3/21in Sapporo Taisen Hall. Aprils' schedule up.

2/4/2003- Nagasaki results.

2/3/2003- Ack, we apparently are back up for now. We have a new host lined up, so please bear with us until then. There are 4 days worth of results up, including today's. Little news tidbits: Bits of the 2/8 Hakata Star Lanes show will be broadcast on the Television West Japan network on 2/9 from 12:45AM to 1:40 AM or so. Magnum is currently boycotting whenever he has to wrestle in the opening match, so that is why he has been getting himself DQ'd. The final T2P performance will air on Gaora on 2/21. For the next few days, if this site is down, you will be able to find updates here.
