9/30/2002- Full Kobe results up, sorry for the lateness. Darkness Dragon and Dragon Kid teamed for the first time ever today, defeating M2K. The Italian Connection appeared in the opening MC, and also intruded on the main.
9/29/2002- Today's results up. Also, there was a T2P match on today's WMF show. Touru Owashi beat the Shachihoko Machines in 10:08 with the Senshuurakugatame. Mitsuhiro Matsunaga made an interesting comment, saying all indies besides Toryumon were dying.
9/29/2002- There will be Toryumon involvement on Michinoku Pros' big 11/8 Ota Ku show. CIMA, SUWA, and Don Fujii (who started in MPRO) with TARU as their second will meet Pentagon Black, Jodie Fleisch and Metal Master (Chad Collyer). Not exactly the most stellar opposition for CMAX....This is SUWAs' first appearance since he was "banned" from MPRO a few years back. Some of you may remember his match with Tiger Mask IV that he lost, thus making him unable to compete in MPRO ever again.
9/26/2002- Quick update to answer a question I have been asked a lot. The finish to the Ultimo/Mochi match wasn't planned. As far as I have been told, the match was to go to a 10 minute draw, but when the errant kick hit Ultimo's elbow, he lost feeling. Judging from the placement of the kick, it really could have made anyone get a stinger or lose some feeling, it is just extra worrisome given Ultimos' history.
9/25/2002- Full results for today up. Apparently, Ultimo Dragon was backstage at WWE Raw this week. Be afraid.......
9/24/2002- 2 matches were announced for the 10/8 Osaka show. Non-title, Milano Collection/YOSSINO/YASSINI vs CIMA/TARU/Don Fujii and NWA Welterweight title, Darkness vs. Ryo.
9/23/2002- Today's results up. Here is what happened in the Ryo/Darkness match. Anthony was attacked after his match by the ItaConne, Ryo came to his aid. Later on, Ryo was attacked by M2K, and then M2K went after Darkness Dragon. Dragon Kid (!!!) comes to Darkness's aid, taking out M2K. Anthony came out to help, and it ended with Ryo catching the Messenger for the pin. Ryo scolded Anthony for intruding, saying even though his intentions are good, he shouldn't interfere. They ended with a hand shake, but Ryo said he wouldn't tolerate further intrusions.... Gee, I wonder where this is going. Thankfully no Darkness Royal Brother tease ^^. Some rumours and speculation have been flying about recently, some title matches have been discussed. Mochi vs SUWA for the BC Junior Title, and Darkness vs. Araken for the NWA Welterweight. Ryo has also expressed interest in the NWA Welter, possibly around the next Osaka show (10/8). Also, M2K is on the hunt for new members, looking to T2P for possible recruits (for some reason I see great punk potential in Second Doi.....). There will be a Yasushi Kanda talk live/signing event at Ring Seoul after the 9/30 Kobe Chicken George show. Next new VamoAmi is a loooong way away, not airing until 10/25. It will cover the 9/30 Kobe Chicken George and 10/8 Osaka shows.
9/22/2002- Today's results up. In a recent interview, Magnum TOKYO demanded that any un-official website close down, or at least remove any photographs and references to him. This isn't a work, apparently, and he is pretty serious about it. I'm not going anywhere, and I doubt anything will happen, but if for some reason I get asked to comply, I will.
9/21/2002- Today's results up. Kanda refereed several matches today, since the show was in his hometown. He also did 2 autograph sessions. The full Italian Connection came out after the first match to taunt CIMA. YOSSINOs' little gorilla Venezia was officially made an ItaConne member....(profile coming soon....)
9/20/2002- Today's results up. Darkness Dragon has officially quit M2K, and promised revenge on the remaining 3 members.
9/19/2002- Today's results up. I forgot to mention this a few days ago, but T2P will have a match on the next WMF show. Owashi will meet the Syachis in a handicap match.
9/18/2002- I received the latest huge batch of Toryumon TV today, including the 9/8 special. The 2 TVs' for the 8/11 doubleheader were both pretty solid, the 2 6 man tags on the T2P show being the standouts (shock). Lots of talk on both shows, angles and such. The one thing I must mention, is Owashi gave YOSSINO a sick sick sick power bomb, knocking him out legit. Scary. 9/8 lived up to expectations on all fronts, and even surpassed them in some places. Quickie review: M2K vs Iwasa/Doi was a perfectly acceptable opener, fast paced with good spots to get the crowd into the show. Raimu vs. Oyanagei was what you would expect, they basically blew through their routine and then the Syachis came. Sonny Onoo hasn't changed a bit since WCW, and Ultimocito was....well, 3 minutes was long enough. Sekigun vs. Royal Brothers rocked, as I expected it, i would have liked 5 more minutes, since the finish came out of nowhere, but everyone was on their game and even Araken looked motivated and good. As shocked as I am to say it, Owashi vs, SUWA was far better than I expected it, and the crowd was super super hot for it. They have built up Owashi as a monster, and he does a good job of living up to it. This is a money feud. Crappy finish, but eh, keeps it going. Of course the big question, how did Ultimo look? He and Mochi went at it full speed, and Mochi didn't hold back. Ultimo was up to task, but the finish just...leaves you wondering whether there was some legitness.....If the match was any indication, Ultimo will not be tarnishing his legacy by returning. The speeches afterwards were very emotional, especially President Okamura. He was so moved he couldn't even speak. Dancing match was still a waste of the ItaConne, but at least it was fun. Disco Inferno is rather jacked now, and can barely move. Magnum is over like crazy again, especially when the dance is going on. CMAX vs Italian Connection. Far better than the Mexico matches, with insane crowd heat (not much for Milano though...). CIMA looked better than he has in ages, and YOSSINOs' new little gorilla mascot has a nice quebrada (yes, I said a gorilla has a nice quebrada). The Mask vs. Mask was pretty standard Darkness vs Kid, but with a whole new slant of violence. Very bloody, lots of crazy brawling, with M2K all over the match. Very subtle tip of the hat near the end, as Darkness busted out his old Vampire Headscissors that was a mainstay of his offense as MAKOTO. The idiots at Gaora decided to go off the air as Ultimo was talking, so we don't get his comeback speech. I expect it to show up on the next VamoAmi. Match listings for all 3 shows are up. Some new photos in the Toryumon X profile section, notably I now have one for Murcielago. Thanks Farns!!! Also some general reorganizing in the profile section, removing profiles for the long gone freelancers (hey, I'm running out of room, and really, how many of you care about Daiyu Kawauchi and the 3 lines of info I had?) and moving Kanda and Darkness out of M2K.
9/18/2002-
Todays results up. M2K has declared war on Kanda and Darkness Dragon.
Sekigun has promised to protect Kanda until his retirement. Darkness
refused Sekiguns' help, saying he would take care of M2K on his own.
9/17/2002- Todays' results
up. Rumours of Darkness vs. Ryo for the NWA Welterweight title tonight.
Given the recent goings on with Darkness, I feel sorry for Ryo.
9/16/2002- 5:45PM- More details on the Ultimo Dragon comeback. The ULTIMO DRAGON COMEBACK WORLD TOUR will commence in Mexico City through the month of October, move on to Los Angeles for November, return to Mexico for a Toryumon Mexico show in December, followed by a Japan return, in Tokyo (also in December)
9/16/2002- Todays' results up. Similar to yesterday, same deal with Darkness Dragon. He is now being listed as from Tokyo as opposed to unknown. Kanda refereed the 3rd match, afterwards, the Toryumon army came out and Kanda and Mochi shook hands. Magnum has said Kanda and Darkness are on their own.
9/15/2002- Todays' results up. Darkness Dragon came out in his mask, and when confronted about it, obliterated Raimu, then took it off. This will probably be what happens until the 10/28 Differ Ariake show (the next "big" show). Ultimo Dragon laid out his comeback plans. Ocotber, November, and early December he wants to tour Mexico and the US, then return and make his official Japanese return. Milano Collection came out before the main and taunted CIMA, who was working with his hurt arm.
9/10/2002- Hey, i can finally get into my FTP again. Lots of leftover news. Biggest of which is a rather serious injury to CIMA. He appears to have suffered a dislocated elbow or shoulder at the hands of Milanos' AT Lock. (He may have been injured going in, but that is the story they are giving). Yasushi Kanda will have his farewell match on 10/28, provided he has doctors clearance. If not, it will just be a ceremony. His opponent will be Stalker Ichikawa, his debut match opponent. He had been planning on returning, however a surgery in August revealed his injury to be too serious. No word yet on whether Makoto Saito will be staying with Toryumon. The final scene of him on 9/8 is crying in the arms of M2K. Hopefully we will know soon. As I mentioned earlier this week, Ultimo had said he would send an offer match to New Japan for their 10/14 dome show, this appears to be almost a lock. If I had to guess, I would imagine we would see a 6 man with Susumu/Genki/Magu vs. Ryo/Kid/Mochi.
9/8/2002- The biggest show in Toryumon history is now over. The big news out of the show was the announcement of a formal , complete return to wrestling by Ultimo Dragon. After losing his exhibition match via ref stop, he was presented with his old ring gear, and said it was now his decision whether or not to return. He re-entered the ring after the main event in his gear, and declared his return. Darkness Dragon was defeated in the mask vs. mask match. His identity was revealed to be MAKOTO. Yasushi Kanda (who was acting as outside referee) prevented M2K from interfering, allowing Dragon Kid to hit the Dragon Rana. Darkness unmasked himself, and embraced both Dragon Kid and all of M2K. Kanda left alone after Ultimos' speech, and did not stand with M2K during it. He went on to announce his retirement from wrestling on 10/28 due to his injuries. We wish Yasushi all the best, and hope we can continue to enjoy his presence in Toryumon in some capacity, perhaps as a ref. No Goldberg. Although this makes my predictions wrong, I can't say I am too sad. Some match details up courtesy of SportsNavi. They also have photos from the show. Announced attendance was 8800 fans, the building usually seats 12,000, but the set-up in the arena cut back the seating and allowed more like 9-11,000. Next tour starts one week from today, and will hopefully give us an indication of where we go from here, especially involving MAKOTO/Darkness/Makoto Saito.
9/8/2002- Well, here we are, the biggest show in company history, and of course m site would get shut down for 2 hours. I apologize to anyone who tried to visit during the 2 hours I was down. A lot has happened at Ariake, News flash and news can be found here. Please feel free to visit the message board and discuss the happenings. In some random notes outside of 9/8, Ultimo has said he would extend a match to New Japan for their 10/14 Dome show.
9/5/2002 12:48AM- Some scheduling notes. Next Vamonos Amigos airs on 9/6 and will cover the 8/14 Differ Ariake show. The matches to be shown are: Mochi vs. SUWA, Stalker vs. Syachis, Raimu vs. Syachis, Stalker vs. Syachis Maximum Weakest finals, Dragon Kid vs. Darkness NWA Welterweight title, CMAX vs. M2K , and CMAX vs. Mochi/Ryo/Marvin from 8/13 Kobe. Tonight, a T2P special airs, also covering 8/14, but also 2 matches from the 8/3 Mexico show. Matches for that show are: Small Dandy Fuji/SUWAcito vs. Syachis, Milano/Latin Lover/Mr. Aguila vs. Owashi/Super Crazy/Hector Garza, Both 5 ways from 8/14 Differ, Royal Princes vs. Condotti/Yagi/BelBel, Milano/YOSSINO/YASSINI vs. Oyanagei/Doi/Owashi. Of course there will also be the live Ariake Coliseum special on 9/8. The next T2P show in Japan will be 10/27 at Differ Ariake.
9/4/2002 8:28 PM- Ariake card order determined, UWA 6 Man match and Mask vs Mask match were flip-flopped, with 'kness vs Kid now the main. As I reported a few weeks ago, both the 6 sided ring and the 4 sided ring will be in use. Before each match, a lottery draw will determine which ring is used. The only exceptions are Ultimos' match, and the 6 man with Disco Inferno, unless Disco agrees to the lottery. Both of these will be in the 4 sided ring. I will be bringing live news flash results for Ariake, starting at around 2AM eastern time.Post your thoughts and predictions on the message board.
9/4/2002 2:19 AM- Here they are, first on the net, Toryumon X profiles with pictures. Ishimori, Arakencito, and Mini Crazy MAX now have photos, courtesy of our good friend Substance J from Osaka Senki. Check them out for a glimpse of the future (thankfully a much earlier start than with T2P for these).
9/2/2002- Full 9/8 card posted up top. 9 matches in all. All fitting into a 3 hour special........Card order still undetermined, aside from the UWA 6 Man tag being the main.
9/1/2002- After being inactive for nearly 5 years with an arm injury, Ultimo Dragon has announced his return to the ring. He will face Masaaki Mochizuki on 9/8 in an exhibition match. I would expect it to be 10 minutes and go to a draw. As far as I know, this is not 1 time only, he is back now. Yesterday, there was a Toryumon match on an All Japan show. Dragon Kid, Mochi, and All Japans' Jimmy Yang defeated Magnum, Susumu, and Darkness in 13:39 when Kid beat Susumu with the Ultra Huracanrana for the 4,000th time. It was widely regarded as the best match on the show, and it got tremendous crowd reaction. Ultimo was with Goldberg in the back later on, and Goldberg said he would help Ultimo if he needed it. I now believe the 9/8 Goldberg rumours, probably killing Stalker. There is one match left undecided for 9/8, with Susumu, Genki, Raimu, Stalker, Iwasa, Oyanagei, Shachihokos, Doi, and Kawabata not having a match yet. TARUcito and Ogawauchi are injured and won't be appearing. Susumu/Genki vs Iwasa/Doi and Oyanagei vs. Stalker are 2 likely candidates. Yasushi Kanda theoretically could make his return here as well, and make it an M2K vs. T2P Technico 6 man.
