2. Don Fujii vs. Stalker Ichikawa Z
3. Anthony W. Mori vs. Magnitude Kishiwada
4. Masaaki Mochizuki, Yasushi Kanda vs. Susumu Yokosuka, Keni'chiro Arai

Super Shenron is replacing Dragon Kid for this show, and is a Beijing only character.

30 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Dragon Kid out of King of Gate

Dragon Kids' illness will also force him out of King of Gate. His appendix operaiton went well, but during his recovery has developed a case of peridonitis. This complication will mean he will miss another month or so of time. Keeping it in the Do FIXER family, Genki will replace him in KoG. This makes the brackets look like this:

A Block
1. Masato Yoshino vs. Genki Horiguchi
2. CIMA vs. Winner of 12/2 Sapporo Survival Gate
3. Yasushi Kanda vs. BxB Hulk
Ryo Saito gets a bye, will face the winner of #1

B Block
1. Masaaki Mochizuki vs. Susumu Yokosuka
2. Naruki Doi vs. Kouji Shishido
3. Don Fujii vs. Magnitude Kishiwada
4. Anthony W. Mori vs. Dick Togo

29 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Indy Summit

Looks like Dragon Gate will throw their name into the Indy Summit show on New Years' Eve. This show already has heavy El Dorado participation. Mochi is the designated representative, and the match will be under Battlarts rules, with only KO and Give Up, no pinfall.

Masaaki Mochizuki, Kota Iibushi vs. Fujita Jr. Hayato, Muneki Sawa

Sad times when the out of the ring action is way more interesting than the in the ring.

28 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/28 CROWN GATE

11/28/2006 Shiga, Shiga Prefectural Culture and Industry Exchange Hall
1. Masaaki Mochizuki{W}, Yasushi Kanda (10:44 Twister) CIMA, Jack Evans{L}

27 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/27 LIVE GATE

11/27/2006 Hyogo, ASUTA LIVE FACTORY~SITE KOBE~
1. Masaaki Mochizuki{W}, Yasushi Kanda (Backslide) Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi{L}
2. Magnitude Kishiwada (Figure 4) Jyushin Stalker Ichikawa
3. Cyber Konb (Cyber Bomb) Yuki Ono
4. Tozawa-juku vs. Oshima-gakuen
Akira Tozawa, Taku Iwasa{W}, Takayuki Mori (Tozawa-juku Hiden: Gouwan) Bancho Fujii, Fuku-bancho CIMA, Ryugakusei Jack Evans{L}
5. Pentagon Black (BT Bomb) BxB Hulk
6. Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, Gamma{W} (Gamma Special) Susumu Yokosuka, Keni'chiro Arai, Yamato Onodera{L}

MaraIsappa argued again today, it all seems to stem from Genki being angry at the Triangle Gate situation.
Match 4 was an all out school gang war. Oshima-gakuen had Stalker with them as a gang leader, and they all did their Tozawa-juku parody. Jacks' name means overseas exchange student. Unfortunately for them, a mistake on Stalkers' part lead to the finish. CIMA disbanded Oshima-gakuen afterwards, and forced Stalker to shave his head. Osu!
All the players of NEX were introduced at intermission, with Onodera being the focus figure.
Gamma made ring announcer Kikuchi announce him as Ace of Dragon Gate. Gamma joked he would be taking MO'z public soon and sell stock. He and Susumu had some words afterwards, about King of Gate. Gamma is not in KoG yet, but I guess we just had the Survival Gate spoiled.

26 Nov 2006 - () - dgblog

I have decided to open a blog for my own thoughts on happenings in Dragon Gate and El Dorado (and Toryumon, should there be any, of course).

25 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - More news

A quick correction on the DRAGON GATE NEX shows, it looks like they will be 2 times per month, not bi-monthly.

Dragon Gate has declared 2007 to be the year of the open door policy. The first example of this will be on 12/28 in Korakuen, where an outside wrestler who has not been in a DG ring before will make an appearance.

The Mochizuki produced 1/25/07 Buyudan show will be an carry an entirely Dragon Gate vs. Other Companies theme. Mochi will team with New Japans' Minoru in the main event.

23 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Some Osaka Postscript

2 little blurbs coming out of Osaka.

CIMA indicated that Blood Generations' future would be shown when King of Gate came around. With Fujii focusing on Renaissance and Takagi in the US, the direction of CIMAs' unit is in doubt.

Magnitude Kishiwada will be leaving Dragon Gate to become a full time freelancer in 2007. He will still appear from time to time for DG, but will no longer be a regular.

23 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/23 CROWN GATE

11/23/2006 Osaka, Osaka Prefectural Gym, Main Arena

3. Ryuukon 10 Match Series Finale: Geni'chiro Tenryu (7:50 Lariat) Yasushi Kanda
4. IJ Title: Masaaki Mochizuki (13:27 Michinoku Driver 2 Cutback) Pentagon Black

5. BxB Hulk, Jyushin Thunder Lyger, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal{W} (17:56 Shooting Sydal Press) Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino{L}, Magnitude Kishiwada, Kevin Steen
6. Hair vs. Hair, Pinfall, Give Up, KO Only: Gamma (9:49 Small package w/Kinta Fast Count) CIMA
6b. Hair vs. Hair, Pinfall, Give Up, KO Only: Gamma (6:44 Avalanche Style Tombstone) CIMA
7. Open the Dream Gate: Don Fujii (26:40 Nice German) Susumu Yokosuka
*Susumu fails in his V4, Fujii becomes the 6th Champion

Mochi sealed the IJ title for good. He again appealed to be the next Dream Gate challenger.
The first half of the show is getting a less than positive response. The second half kicked off on a sour note as well.
President Okamura came out after the Kinta fast count lead to the Gamma win. The match was restarted with a new referee. In what has to be a first in pro wrestling history, Gamma also won the restart, and CIMA had his head shaved.
Yet another shocker in the main event, with what looked like a pedestrian defense for Susumu ending in defeat.
Announced attendance was 5500, and spectator reports put the building at 80% full.

22 Nov 2006 - () - El Dorado - 11/22 TREASURE HUNTERS

11/22/2006 Tokyo, Shinjuku FACE~TREASURE HUNTERS~
1. Banana Senga (8:04 Sugar Spot) Yusuke Aoki
2. Mototsugu Shimizu, Manjimaru{W} (11:52 Manjiotoshi) Bear Fukuda, Guillermo "Chango" Akiba{L}
3. Yasushi Tsujimoto, Masaki Okimoto{W}, Yuji Hinomoto (12:12 German Suplex Hold) Touru Owashi, Ken45, King Pocota{L}
4. TREASURE HUNTERS Tag Tournament 1st Round:
Milano Collection AT{W}, Kota Iibushi (16:08 AT Lock) El Blazer, Milanito Collection a.t.{L}
5. TREASURE HUNTERS Tag Tournament 1st Round:
Shuji Kondo{W}, Dick Togo (17:52 King Kong Lariat) Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei{L}

Naoki Tanizaki appeared after the main event, and appealed to Kondo for the chance to compete on 12/27. Tanizaki said Dorado was home to a lot of championship class caliber players, and he wanted to be a part of it. President Kawabata agreed, and Naoki will make his El Dorado debut on 12/27! Backstage, Kondo openly doubted whether or not Naoki would make a mark on Dorado.
A few other wrestlers made their Dorado debut today. Yusuke Aoki especially is a notable name. If you remember, he had a match for DDT several months ago. He is a lost Toryumon X graduate, and a dojo contemporary of Milanito, Takuya Sugi, and the other later term students currently in Japan.
His opponent today, Banana Senga, has been picked by Owashi as his tag tournament partner. Senga hopes to open a crocodile farm in Saku-city if they win the prize money.
Milanito and Blazer continued their quarreling before the show, as Blazer was set to learn the Milanito dance. Blazer showed up 3 hours late, and then pretty much refused to take part, instead choosing to attempt to strip the 2 dancers, LISA and AIKO, of their clothing. Milanito gave Blazer a thrust kick and left him laying. This obviously lead to no success in their match, although no one really gave them much of one.
The first Japanese Milano/Milanito confrontation went as expected. Milano told him he looked forward to their next meeting, but 'nito had a lot of growing to do.
Shimizu and Manjimarus' team got off to a winning note, but not on the best of terms. Manjimaru left Shimizu to fight on his own most of the match, staying in a neutral corner.

KAGETORA came out during intermission and talked about his knee injury. He didn't give a timetable for a return, but said if he could come back even a day early, he would. Sugawara intruded here and said he was able to return from, ironically enough, the same type of knee injury, he would continue to go after KAGETORA.

The next tournament match is one full month away, on 12/22 in Chiba. That show will have Ken45/Masahiro Takanashi vs. Tsujimoto/Hinomoto. Sunday*Shogo will appear on both the 12/23 and 12/24 shows.

7. IJ Tag Titles: Masaaki Mochizuki{W}, Don Fujii (22:53 Dragon Suplex Hold) Magnitude Kishiwada{L}, Pentagon Black

The dojo boy in the opening exhibition debuted here, and is a Fukuoka local.
The 11/23 Dream Gate match had it's contract signing before the opener. Fujii swore to topple the mountain of Susumu Yokosuka. Susumu said he has never been beaten by Don Fujii, and would return to Hakata as a champion.
The big talk coming out of match #1 is the continuing power up of Taku Iwasa. Some are starting to put him up on the level of Kishiwada for DG power fighters. His latest feat is carrying Genki piggyback while Genki attempts a choke sleeper, and giving Ryo a suplex with Genki still on his back!
Stalker came out with Z painted on his face and on his chest. He has renamed to Stalker Ichikawa Z. It was same old Stalker though.
Tozawa and Shingo had an amusing talk battle before their impromptu tag. Tozawa said while Shingo was gone that he had risen to the top of Dragon Gate.....This was a highglight for some reports, saying it recalled the old Toryumon talk battles in the CIMA/Magnum/Mochizuki era. Kong and Shingo completely overwhelmed the Tozawa-juku team, despite reports saying Kong is not very good. They exchanged words with IsappaMaraha over their 11/23 match.
MO'z intruded after match 5. All 4 participants ran them off. Lyger and CIMA will have a singles match on the February Hakata show. Some reports said Lyger was having trouble maintaining the DG speed pace.
Mochi laid out a few challenges after the main. First, he and Fujii will go after the IWGP Jr. tag belts, currently held by Jado and Gedo. This will be a double title match though, with the IJ tag up for grabs too. Second, he challenged the winner of the Dream Gate match. This will also occur on 2/4 in Hakata, for the traditional February Hakata defense.

18 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/18 Lock Up Participation, KoG X revealed

Mochi and Hulk traveled to New Japans' Lock Up brand today. The Hulk/Lyger team lost their debut as a team, falling to Mochi and Dick Togo, Togo pinning Hulk with his Diving Senton.
Togo was also revealed as the X for King of Gate, so he will be Anthonys' opponent. So Togo will be participating in both a Dragon Gate and El Dorado tournament at the same time.

17 Nov 2006 - () - El Dorado - New Match for 11/22

Dragon Kid had to be taken to the hospital yesterday due to a case of appendicitis. Due to this, The 11/19 Hakata Triangle Gate match has been changed to a interim champion decision match. When Kid is able to return, Do FIXER and the interim champions will then meet to determine the title holders. Here is the updated card. Oyaji is again out, MaraIsa will now take on Tozawa-juku in the opener, while MO'z jump into the Triangle Gate match.

-1st Round:brother YASSHI, Yuji Hino vs. Ken45, Masahiro Takanashi

Perhaps something to watch is the recent slight dissension between Blazer and Milanito.

16 Nov 2006 - () - El Dorado - Suga Injured

The bad luck continues to roll in for El Dorado. Sugawara picked up a knee injury on the GPWA show, and it will keep him out of the tag tournament. His replacement is pretty big though, as Milano Collection AT will make his Dorado debut. We can assume he was Sugas' X to begin with. Milanos' partner is X as well.

13 Nov 2006 - () - DG and Dorado - Stalker, CIMA/Owashi, Voodoo Murders in NOAH

Interesting Bom ba Ye aftermath notes. Ichikawa posted today that "Stalker Ichikawa" would be honoring the retirement stipulation, but Ichikawa the person would return in a different manner soon.

During CIMAs' post match MC, while discussing DDT cooperation, he made a very interesting comment. "Isn't Owashi in DDT?". Owashi is of course the DDT KO-D champion still. The political intrigue continues.

Voodoo Murders will make their first raid on NOAH proper. Kondo will team with SUWA and Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Taiji Ishimori, Atsushi Aoki, and Kentaro Shiga on 11/17 in Korakuen. TARU and KonBro will also appear for their 12/10 Nipon Budokan show.

10 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/19 Change

A change to the opener on 11/19. Distressing to fans of Tozawa-juku, as Akira has been replaced by Shishido. No announced change to Akiras' spot in the 11/23 tag as of yet. Also interesting to note that this was a quiet change, the original announcement was edited to put Shishido in Tozawas' spot.

08 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/19 Full Card, Apache Player Participation

Fresh off the Lyger arrival, the full card for 11/9 is announced. On the eve of Osaka, it's shaping up to be one heck of a stacked show. Even more added confusion from Stalker Bom Ba Ye, as BOTH Tozawa and Stalker are booked. As of now this show is not going to get much treatment on the December Infinity, due to the way the air dates are falling.

11/19/2006 Fukuoka, Hakata Star Lanes
1. Akira Tozawa, Taku Iwasa, Takayuki Mori vs. Masato Yoshino, Naruki Doi, Gamma

08 Nov 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/8 CROWN GATE

11/8/2006 Tokyo, Korakuen Hall
1. Masato Yoshino, Gamma{W}, Kevin Steen (Small Package w/ Kinta High Speed Count) CIMA{L}, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal
2. Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi{W} (Beach Break) Keni'chiro Arai, Yamato Onodera{L}

5. Susumu Yokosuka{W}, K-nes (Mugen) Don Fujii, Yasushi Kanda{L}
6. Naruki Doi{W}, Magnitude Kishiwada (Chair Bakatare Sliding Kick) Dragon Kid, BxB Hulk{L}

So much for honoring the stipulation. Kinta has returned to MO'z. He insisted on being the ref for 11/23 CIMA vs. Gamma, and for some reason CIMA agreed. There is some premonition that this could be to get back at MO'z for attacking him after he shook hands with CIMA in Kyoto.
Shisa went after Pentagons' mask today. Perhaps the Shisas' will finally look to exact revenge on their betraying King.
Cyber Kong intruded during intermission. He crushed a pineapple with his hands.
Doi provoked the 11/23 X, which brought out New Japans' Jyushin Thunder Lyger. Kishiwada attacked him in the entryway, and some brawling closed out the show.

New Japan also announced today that on the 11/18 Lock Up show, BxB Hulk will also participate in the same match as Mochi. Hulk teams with Lyger to face Mochi and Dick Togo. Lyger will also come to the DG 11/19 Hakata show. He will again team with Hulk, against CIMA and Sydal. Capping the Lyger involvement, Lyger will face Kishiwada in a singles match on 12/14, in the main event for Bikkuri Pro Wrestling.

Inspired by Stalker Bom ba Ye, Mochi will be holding an independant performance of his own on 1/25 in Korakuen Hall. DG will send about 10 wrestlers, but 60% of the card will be outside wrestlers, including Mochis' main event opponent.

01 Nov 2006 - () - October to November Recap

The long and winding month of October has finally come to an end. All 3 branches of the Dragon system were active this month, with majour happenings across the board.

El Dorado held bookend shows on the 1st and 31st. They culminated the focus stories of El Dorados' first chapter. The Sugawara/Aagan-iisou/STONED saga came to a puzzling end, when instead of siding with his either of his friends, he turned on both. He stole the remainder of STONED from KAGETORA, and outright betrayed Aagan-iisou. Kondo was rescued by Dick Togo of all people, forming an internet dream team. KAGETORA appealed to Touru Owashi of all people, who accepted.
The Manjimaru vs. Shimizu feud screeched to a halt on 10/1. Mr. Kawabata stopped their match, telling the 2 that they have racked up over 600,000 yen in property damages during their brawls. Kawabata ordered them together for the tag tournament, where they could use the winners' prize money to pay off their debt. Shimizu seemed ready to accept the team on 10/31, but Manjimaru attacked him yet again.
Finally, the Minami-Kyoto High School wrestling team reunited. On 10/1, Hino, YASSHI, and Okimoto had their 3 way was interrupted by STONED. In response, they put on their amateur singlets and beat the Brahmans' and Manjimaru. YASSHI told Okimoto he was finally graduating after the match. However, YASSHI has chosen to team with Hino in the tag tourney.
The other point of interest could revolve around Ken45. Ken recently went to "Sexy Storm" Ricky Fuji for some advice on how to become a rock and roller. He gave Owashi some drum sticks and Jet a triangle to play backup to his air guitar for their 10.31 tag. He appealed to King Pocota to be his tag tourney partner. He asked Pocota, who is Toryumon system dropout Masa Takanashi to come as he true self, not the comedy character. He refused though, and will compete as the King of Dorado.
The tag tournament is the focus for November and December. 11/22 and 12/27, both times in Shinjuku Face. The announced teams are as follows:

Shuji Kondo & Dick Togo
KAGETORA & Touru Owashi
Takuya Sugawara & X (an amazing partner)
brother YASSHI & Yuji Hino
Ken45 & King Pocota
Manjimaru & Mototsugu Shimizu

Outside of Dorado, there was a lot of activity. Kondo and YASSHI invaded Pro Wrestling NOAH under the Voodoo Murders banner. They aligned with TARU and SUWA on the SEM offshoot show, and promised more invasions. They also were active in New Japan, on their Wrestleland brand. They will also be reuniting the Italian Connection with Milano on 11/11 for the Ring Soul Live finale. The match will be full Dragon system, meeting TARU, SUWA, and Owashi.
Sugawara will have some higher profile matches. He main events both the Indy Summit December show, and the GPWA 11/14 debut. For the Indy Summit, Suga teams with Kengo Mashimo of K-Dojo, and GAINA of Osaka Pro to take on NJWs' Daisuke Sekimoto, HARASHIMA from DDT, and Billyken Kid of Osaka. The theme of the main event is up and coming stars who aim for the top of their company, or have reached it. The GPWA main follows a similar theme, and will be: Suga, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Go Shiozaki vs. KAZMA, HARASHIMA, Ryouji Sai.
KAGETORA meanwhile was injured at Differ, and has canceled his November bookings.

Dragon Gate had several points of interest in October, and goes into November with a lot of intrigue. Not all of it is from the in ring end of things.
Don Fujii fought through injury to defeat MO'z gaijin assassin Kevin Steen and earn a shot at Susumu and the Dream Gate.
Naruki Doi returned from his WRESTLE-JAM injury. He came out in a full suit and announced his retirement. He asked Dragon Kid for a handshake, since they were great rivals. Of course it was a trick, and Kid took a MO'z assault. Doi will make his formal return on 11/8.
The October Korakuen was headlined by a Tozawa-juku vs. Muscle Outlaw'z 6 man tag. On both sides were 2 Toryumon system trainees who never made it to the wrestler level. Referee Kinta Tomoaka and Hatamochi Oyaji Kouji Shishido. The stipulations were if MO'z lost, Kinta would return to being a clean ref. If Tozawa-juku lost, Shishido would have to dress as a female flag bearer. Tozawa-juku won, allowing Shishido to live his dream. Whether or not he will again be active isn't known. Kinta followed the stipulation, and has already made his peace with CIMA. This could come up again in the Gamma/CIMA rivalry though.
Gamma and CIMA have reignited their feud in a big way this fall. It will culminate in a Falls Count Anywhere, no DQ, No Ringout Hair vs. Hair match on 11/23.
Stalker Ichikawa Bom Ba Ye will happen on 11/12. I'll post the card later in this post. The main event will be Stalker vs. Akira Tozawa in a 2 out of 3 falls retirement match. The obvious result is a Stalker loss and retirement, given his diminished role in recent times. Both men appear on cards after 11/12, but Tozawa-juku overall have a decreased presence in November, so the result may not necessarily be that obvious.
King of Gate will happen in December, from 12/10 through 12/22. Some of the participants will be fan voted this time, the entire roster will not be in this time.

CIMA and Mochi both have outside of DG endeavours. Mochi will go to New Japans' 11/18 Lock Up. He teams with, now with the Dorado development interestingly enough, Dick Togo to face Jyushin Lyger and a mystery man. CIMA will go Hakata based scummy indy Kageki 11/14, teaming with their owner Azteca vs. Diablo and Kurokage. As the lineups show, Kageki wrestlers will be on the 11/19 Hakata show.

Here is the gaijin schedule for the remainder of the year:
Jack Evans is staying through the end of 2006 on all shows.
Matt Sydal will be around from 11/8 to 11/23
Kevin Steen is staying until 11/26 Takamatsu
Pentagon Black arrives again on 11/5, and will remain through King of Gate on 12/22 in Korakuen
Cyber Kong, who is the first project out of the Dragon Gate USA dojo, will arrive on 11/5, and remain indefinitely. If you haven't seen him yet, click here
