01 Nov 2006 - () - El Dorado - Kondo, YASSHI invade NOAH, Suga

Shuji Kondo, brother YASSHI, and TARU joined up with SUWA in the NOAH ring today, on their SEM offshoot show. They won their match vs. Taiji Ishimori, Mohammed Yone, and Atsushi Aoki. They promised to invade the SEM and proper NOAH ring again in the future.

31 Oct 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/8 Card, Shingo Results

Shingo will go for the QFC title this weekend. I have no idea what that is. He also will apparently be involved in a tag match that will have Mil Mascaras as a participant.
Cyber Kong will be coming to Japan early, much to the delight(?) of everyone. He will participate on the 11/10 and 11/11 conventions.

31 Oct 2006 - () - El Dorado - 10/31 The Conclusions of Autumn

10/31/2006 Tokyo, Differ Ariake~The conclusions of Autumn~
1. Milanito Collection a.t.{W}, Francesco Togo, Mori Bernardo (12:45 Natare Bianco) Ken45, Shogo Jet Takagi{L}, Touru Owashi
2. El Blazer{W}, Kota Iibushi (9:28 Lightning Struck) Mototsugu Shimizu, King Pocota{L}
3. Akira Taue (8:14 Dynamic Bomb) Bear Fukuda
4. brother YASSHI, Masaki Okimoto{W}, Yuji Hino (18:13 German Suplex Hold) Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, Manjimaru{L}
5. 3 Way Match: Shuji Kondo (20:47 King Kong Lariat) KAGETORA; Takuya Sugawara{L}

Some surprises tonight. We'll start with the main event.
Sugawara bowed to Kondo after the match, saying Kondo was strong and that he loved Aagan-iisou. This was just a set up though, and the Brahman brothers and Manjimaru joined in on an attack on Kondo. The big shock came when they attacked KAGETORA as well. Togo intruded here to help Kondo. They will be partners in the tag tournament. Owashi of all people followed, and ended up aiding KAGETORA, they will team together. Both of those teams promised to meet in the finals, as well as gain revenge on Suga. Sugawara meanwhile promised to bring an "amazing partner". Top guess for this is Minoru Fujita of Zero One. He doesn't exactly fall under the amazing category though.

Match 2 brought a little development for the tag tournament. Ken appealed to Pocota to come as his true self Masa Takanashi and team with him. He refused though, and will join with Ken as Pocota. Meanwhile, Shimizu looked ready to unite with Manjimaru to pay off their damage debt. Manjimaru on the other wasn't, and he attacked Shimizu again.

YASSHI said todays' match showed the power of Minami-Kyoto High School. He told Okimoto he finally graduated today. However he will be teamign with Hino in the tag tournament.

Thus far the announced teams for the tournament are:
Shuji Kondo & Dick Togo
KAGETORA & Touru Owashi
Takuya Sugawara & X
brother YASSHI & Yuji Hino
Ken45 & King Pocota
Manjimaru & Mototsugu Shimizu

Sadly, according to iMode reports, attendance was only in the 465 range.

Also, somewhat related to this, is the main event for the Indy Summit show at the end of the year will also feature Sugawara. He teams with Kengo Mashimo of K-Dojo, and GAINA of Osaka Pro to take on NJWs' Daisuke Sekimoto, HARASHIMA from DDT, and Billyken Kid of Osaka. The theme of the main event is up and coming stars who aim for the top of their company, or have reached it.

29 Oct 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Outside participation

In yet another odd choice for a partnership, CIMA will be dispatched to the Pro Wrestling KAGEKI 11/14 Sazanpia (or Southern Pier, depending on who is romanizing it) Hakata convention. In return, Kageki boss Azteca and KAZE will come to the 11/19 Hakata Star Lanes show, and not in janitorial capacity as one might assume.
Azteca spent some time with Toryumon Japan in 2000 and 2001, doing nothing of note.

27 Oct 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - 11/19, Streaming Site, King of Gate, Bikkuri Prowres 2006

Some news and notes today. 2 matches are announced for 11/19 Hakata, both of them we knew already. In addition, Shingo and Cyber Kong will be there.

11/19/2006 Fukuoka, Hakata Star Lanes
-IJ Tag: Masaaki Mochizuki, Don Fujii vs. Magnitude Kishiwada, Pentagon Black
-Open the Triangle Gate: Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi, Dragon Kid vs. Susumu Yokosuka, K-ness, Yamato Onodera

Dragon Gate will open it's first streaming site on 11/1. Called Web GATE, it will cost 1050 yen per month, and will give you access to exclusive web content. I'm not entirely sure that an abundance of matches will be available though. Screen savers, player profiles, and other content will be posted. The requirements say you need the Japanese version of Windows XP, so this could be off limits to those outside of Japan.

King of Gate will not include every member of the roster this year. Instead, participants will be picked by fan voting, through a mobile phone ballot.

Former Osaka Pro referee Matsui will again be holding a Bikkuri Pro Wrestling event this year, on 12/14 from Korakuen Hall. Kishiwada will be in the main event, vs. a mystery X opponent. Another match involving DG talent was announced today, in yet another bizarre pairing. CIMA will team up with DDT boss Sanshiro Takagi to face Gamma and Dick Togo. Don Fujii is also among the announced DG participants.

24 Oct 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Genki and Yoshino to WSX? New trainees.

Masato Yoshino and Genki Horiguchi are listed as taking part in the November 11-16th WSX tapings in Los Angeles in an email I received today. No word from the DG side on this, but it's something those of you in the LA area might want to keep an eye on.

You can get free tickets on their site.

In some other news, 2 new rookies have begun their 5 minute exhibition matches. Their names are Sawada and Kimada.

11 Oct 2006 - () - Dragon Gate - Stalker Bom ba Ye Card

11/12/2006 12:11 Kickoff Time, Tokyo, Shinjuku FACE~Stalker Ichikawa Bom Ba Ye

Kota goes from being in the ring with the El Dorado ace, to in the ring with the Dragon Gate ace. A lot can be said about the state of Japanese pro wrestling, but the politics and bedfellows are always intriguing.
Touryu is one of Kishiwadas' old characters. Whether he is the one doing it on this show is unknown, but more than likely.

Director Kawabata forcibly stopped the Manjimaru/Shimizu match. Manjimaru had racked up a bill of over 660,000 yen in damages during his matches with Shimizu due to his wild brawling style. Beause of this, Kawabata was also considering Shimizu as an accomplice. He is forcing them to team in an upcoming tag tournament, where the prize money can be used to pay for the damage they have caused. The 10/31 convention will have details of this tournament.
