Freelance Roundup for 10/22 - 22 Oct 2011
KAGETORA was in Michinoku Pro today. He rejoined up with Kowloon for their 3rd annual stable produced show from Shin-Kiba 1st RING. He took part in a singles tournament featuring the other Kowloon members. The matches had 9 minute time limits, to match the 9 dragon concept that Kowloon is based on. After beating Takeshi Minamino in 2:14 with the Kagenui, KAGE went to a 9 minute draw with Rui Hiugaji, which eliminated them both from the tournament. Rasse ended up winning the whole thing, over Manjimaru in the finals.

The great Don Fujii had his first match in New Japans' G1 tag league today. He was victorious, but it was only by DQ as opponents Takashi Iizuka & Hideo Saito ran wild with much cheating and weapon use.

Loser: YAMATO (40:44)

There was some signs of trouble between Gamma and the rest of JIII after the Triangle Gate match. He had some words with Mochizuki, before leaving by himself. Not a good thing when his spot in the unit is on the line in Korakuen on 11/4.

The BW side took their turns cutting YAMATOs' hair. Then KAGE & Shingo were forced to take some off.

Mochizuki closed the show with a standard closing speech, saying it was too bad about YAMATO but that is just the way things go sometimes. He said YAMATO would surely rebound soon.

Weekend Coverage - 14 Oct 2011
I am out of town the next few days, so coverage will be off the normal schedule. Granted, there is nothing going on tomorrow so it probably won't be a big deal.

For GATE OF DESTINY, my flight(s) coincide with the latter portion of the show. I will cover what I can on Twitter during the show and on my layovers, and have full results here the first chance I get. Sorry if you were looking forward to live coverage. This trip was last minute and I actually was hoping to do it next week so I could be around for the PPV, but it didn't work out.

Yuki Ono returns. It is being billed as a special one night only revival. As I mentioned earlier, he has a full time spot with Okinawa already.

Mochizuki is currently looking for a unit to provide the opposing team for the main event. Kowloon from MPro is probably the best bet.

Some additional info about the unit warfare matches on 11/4. The 5 vs. 6 singles match series will be done tug of war style like last weekend in Hakata. The participants were confirmed, with Tomahawk & Kzy teaming up for a handicap match.

*5th Defense for Mochizuki

After dark match #2, Fujii got angry with Kotoka & Shenlong for their continued lack of growth. He hit them all the way out of the arena.

KAGETORA & Susumu officially formed a team after their win. They shook hands to seal it. They entered the 2009 SATL as a team representing WARRIORS-5. No team name yet, but KAGESuka & Yokosuka Ichoume have been used in the past.

Hulk went after Takagi after his match, but KAGE came out for the save.

Fujii & Brodie brawled through the crowd as intermission was going on.

Cyber took scissors to YAMATOs' hair during the match. YAMATO got him back by taking his mask completely off after submitting him.

The next step of the JIII vs. BW feud will go down in the November Korakuen. The two sides agreed to a 5 vs. 5 tag, where the loser of the fall will have to leave their unit. Takayuki Yagi, perhaps inspired by Doi Darts, had a unique way to pick the members. He brought out some packaged versions of his world famous bread. The "Yagi Bread Roulette". The participants picked were: Mochizuki, Takagi, YAMATO, Yoshino, & Gamma for JIII & CIMA, Tozawa, Cyber, Doi, & Hulk for BW. After some protesting from Tanizaki, the remaining members of both units will have a 5 vs. 6 singles match series.

Appaently, there is an 11/11 Buyuden lineup posted at Korakuen. I won't post the whole thing since it is incomplete and unofficial, but this is worth mentioning. The opening match will be Yosuke Watanabe vs. Katsuo. Yes, that Katsuo. The same Yuki Ono who quit the company back in 2009. This is a very surprising return, for a lot of reasons. Of course, appearing on a Buyuden should in no way be taken as a sign he is returning. He currently competes full time for Okinawa Pro Wrestling as Ultra Mango.

*BW win 3-2

CIMA took advantage of a distracted referee to hit a low blow on Mocchy. This lead directly to the flash pin on the Dream Gate champion. Surprisingly, this was the only match in the series that involved shenanigans. Aside from a brief Hulk intrusion in the final match that didn't lead to anything, all the matches were generally clean fights.

Saito celebrated afterwards. He said earlier in the year at the Hakata CHAMPION GATE it was a JIII festival, but things were turning around. BW won tonight, they won back the Twin & Triangle, & his partner Horiguchi was going to win the Brave. He then said if he couldn't do it, he himself would beat PAC.

Mochizuki admitted defeat today. But he ripped on Saito for saying that his partner could lose and wondered what happened to Saito & Maraha Isappa. As a former Dream Gate champion, Saito seemed to be acting with low intentions. Mochizuki said with the win today Saito should be challenging him, but Tozawa attacked him before he could go further.

Tozawa reminded him that he was the next challenger. He said he would beat him in Korakuen, then go onto GoD where he would help leave one of JIII with a shaved head. He would then return to Fukuoka for FINAL GATE as champion.

CIMA was next, he basically said the same things Saito did. He promised that BW would soon complete their comeback from the June CHAMPION GATE.

Mochizuki closed the show, saying that Tozawa was getting way ahead of himself and that at FINAL GATE, he would still be champion.

Yoshihiro Takayama will make his third DG appearance of 2011 at GATE OF DESTINY. Don Fujii announced that he would once again be teaming up with himself & Ichikawa. He called out Brodie & Kanda to face them. They agreed, with Metal Warrior joining in.

JIII & BW had their usual rope separated talk battle before match two. It was centered around the hair match participants. One thing of note is, there was the latest Kzy vs. Swann rap battle. What makes it notable is Kzy actually won.

Yoshino & DK will get the Twin Gate shot at GATE OF DESTINY.

Mochizuki demanded that JIII get their Triangle Gate shot after their win. Doi said no, because it was going to be left up to DOI DARTS! He produced a new dart board, this one was filled with Xs and Os. An O means they got their match, and X meant no. Mochizuki said it should be done like last time, with a fan throwing the dart. He picked a girl from the crowd and she tossed her dart.........She landed on an X. JIII looked on in horror while BW celebrated like they won the biggest match in history.

Gamma was furious, and he promptly destroyed the dart board. Doi was aghast and heartbroken. Tanizaki was also upset by this, saying Doi had been up all night working on it. They argued, and in the confusion, Tanizaki accepted the challenge. Tanizaki quickly added that there would be stipulations attached. The 2 count rules from his fake Brave Gate reign will be in play. Doi continued to rage out of control and was shouting for reimbursement for his broken board.

The challenging team and location weren't announced, but I would assume it will either be in Osaka or Sambo Hall next month.

BW attacked Swann during his entrance with chairs, taking him out of the match. Susumu jumped in in his place. He will also be in his place tomorrow in Sambo Hall.

Kid & Yoshino made another appeal to the Spike Mohicans for a Twin Gate match.

Tanizaki intruded on behalf of Doi to help his win.

There was much more brawling and hair cutting attempts after the main. Naturally, Takagi aimed at Hulk. He said he gained great pleasure from taking scissors to Hulk. YAMATO and Tozawa went at it. KAGETORA then said he had a confession to make. He really liked Susumu. Then he kissed him on the cheek.
