Eita said that even though he lost his hair, nothing has changed. R・E・D controls Dragon Gate and to a man, the rest of the roster will be destroyed. Not just in Japan, but all over the world.

With his second victory of the month over Ishida, Yoshioka claimed to have him totally figured out. The Rookie Ranking tournament pairings will be decided by lottery, but if he gets Ishida it will be a sure win for him. Ishida told him he had nothing but some fluke pins. He lost today because of the damage Mochizuki did to his leg. Without that, he would have won. It had nothing to do with Yoshioka. Yoshioka borrowed a quote from Ishida’s partner. A flash pin is still a win. Yoshino had to concede. Flash pins are great. Roll up and don’t shut up. Ishida should just take the loss and learn from it. Ishida owned up to it. A loss is a loss, but the tournament was the bigger picture. He wasn’t just thinking about the first round. He was planning on winning the whole thing. Yoshioka is beneath him and the ranking at the end of the tournament will prove it because the #1 will be Kaito Ishida of MaxiMuM. Mochizuki agreed that a flash pins are great to have in your arsenal. He lost the Dream Gate to Yoshino via a flash pin. He wondered why Yoshioka used honorifics while addressing Yoshino, but not him. No big deal. He also agreed with what Ishida said. Yoshioka should be thinking beyond the first round. He should be going into this tournament planning to win it and prove he is better than Ishida. He won the match today but Ishida bested him on the microphone, so today is a draw. He praised Shun & Hyo for winning, and even though Minoura lost he’s growing. He doesn’t know what the tournament pairings will look like but he hopes to see them all as the final four. Yoshioka finished by promising to carry this momentum into 2019 and to win the rookie tournament.

After intermission, it was announced that on January 9th, a new weekly program called “Cutting Edge Battle Dragon Gate” would begin airing on the Kansai based MBS TV network. The 30 minute show will air every Wednesday night (Thursday morning) at 2:30 AM.

2018 was a huge year for Kzy, so it was fitting that he got the win in the final match. Even though they lost the Triangle Gate in Fukuoka, Natural Vibes had no plans on stopping. He already sees a new vision. Their unit became a force in 2018 and in 2019, so will Kzy.

A lot of things happened in 2018. The company structure changed and some birds left the nest. It was not seen as a desperate situation, but as a chance. For the fans to continue to come see them it just gives them more drive to keep going. He thinks this their strongest trait. Next year is the 20th anniversary. There will be a new weekly show on network TV. There are nothing but great things to look forward to in 2019. For the fans here and those watching on the network, check it. Thank you for coming this year and he hopes to see all their smiling faces again next year. See you in 2019!

“Hollywood” Stalker Ichikawa came out during the aftermath of Mochizuki vs. Daga. Who authorized this? What did Mochizuki do to deserve a singles match on the first half of a major show? When you think of a pre-intermission singles match you think of Stalker Ichikawa. Next year is Dragon Gate’s 20th anniversary year and he has some goals left to accomplish. In those 20 years he has probably had a hundred singles matches with Mochizuki. He has not won one yet. So he has come here to beat him up. He demanded a match on the spot. Mochizuki gave him credit for coming all the way to Fukuoka and he would normally call for the bell himself, but he just had a rough match. His leg hurts. He has to decline. Ichikawa replied that the rough match he had was exactly why he came out. He demanded they ring the bell to start the match.

Yoshida boasted about the overwhelming R・E・D victory. This town stinks of ramen and the fans have equally gross faces. Did they really expect a dance troupe to beat a team as strong as this? Impossible. This was only the beginning. The semi-final and particularly the main event will also be R・E・D wins.

Eita refused the hair cut. Dragon Kid cheated to win via some box attacks from Doi, so he wasn’t obligated to cut his hair. The rest of the roster appeared in the entryway to block him from exiting, so he quickly relented. He would take the haircut like a man, if all these screeching old hags would shut up. Dragon Kid announced there was a man who was even more anxious to cut Eita’s hair than he was. He called out Punch Tominaga, who has been absent due to an ankle injury. As soon as this match was set, DK had made the decision to give first dibs to Punch since he suffered so many humiliating haircuts in recent months. He’s been in poor spirits since losing all of his hair then getting injured, but seeing Kid win today has cheered him up. Punch cut his hair with scissors, then Kid finished it off with hair clippers.
Kid said he realized one thing today. Eita’s recklessness and willingness to go to extremes knows no bounds. Kid took it all and won. He doesn’t know what Eita plans on doing from here, but Eita is welcome to come at him because he can repel anything he has.

Eita played off the haircut as refreshing. It suits him, doesn’t it? He also realized something today. That Dragon Kid was awesome! Shimizu wondered what he was saying, but Eita pushed him and called him a fatass. He picked up the Brave Gate belt and said it was time to give it back to it’s rightful owner. He quickly smashed Kid in the head with it, then destroyed the title belt. He kicked Punch in his bad leg. He might have lost his hair today, but that doesn’t matter. R・E・D controls Dragon Gate. Dragon Kid, Punch Tominaga, and all the wrestlers in the back should all be prepared to be destroyed.

There was a time where Dragon Kid would have fallen for such a trick and cried “I trusted you!!”, but he’s in his 40’s now. He’s been through this enough times to see through it. He knows hat type of lowlife Eita is. In any event, he was able to protect his mask and ensure a happy ending to 2018 for the fans. He thanked them and his MaxiMuM stablemates for their help in his win. He’s been Dragon Kid for 21 years now and he’s incredibly happy that he will be able to continue into year 22. Next year is the 20th anniversary of Dragon Gate. Things are getting even more exciting so he hopes the fans will keep coming to see them.

Last month, Minoura said he really didn’t care much about being ranked against the other rookies. He recently turned 20 and has a fresh outlook to go with it. He will aim to finish at the top of the tournament and hopes the fans will support him in 2019.

Dragon Kid got involved in the Eita vs. Lee match on multiple occasions. Eventually, Eita intentionally got himself disqualified by elbowing the referee in the face. He put the blame squarely on Dragon Kid for his interference. He knows no one wants to see him lose his hair. Everyone wants to see Dragon Kid lose his mask. The fans rejected the idea but he called them a bunch of liars. He was going to both take his mask and cut his stupid curly hair. DK brought up Eita’s recent attempts to injure his arm. Maybe he has a better shot at winning now, but he sure is still acting like the one that is scared. He should be, because in Fukuoka his head was going to be shaved clean.

Ishida celebrated the win. Just like he said last month, this proves that he is ahead of the rest of the young generation. Shun managed to injure himself and he isn’t even here today. Stuff like that rules him out from ever being on top. As for U-T and his annoying submission crap, he should prepare himself to die under a barrage of kicks. U-T took offense and having his submissions mocked by someone who only knows how to kick and fluke into a Tiger Suplex. They will find out which one is better soon enough. Furthermore, he hates people who talk shit in Kansai dialect. Yoshino interjected and pointed out he speaks in Kansai dialect. Did U-T have a problem with him? Mochizuki brought up the crack U-T made about kickers last month which prompted YAMATO to warn him to think a little harder before he provokes people. He even got the notoriously level headed Yoshino angry. Hyo got frustrated. All of you are just talking nonsense. Yoshino, YAMATO, & Mochizuki all wondered who was included in that “All of you”. A brawl then broke out between Watanabe, Ishida, & U-T.

After intermission, ring announcer Kikuchi made the big announcement that GM Yagi teased last month. 1999 marks the 20th anniversary of the company, included the years as Toryumon Japan. To celebrate this milestone, Korakuen Hall will play host to a series of commemoration matches throughout the year. He announced the first of them. As volume 1 of the 20th anniversary commemoration series and to celebrate Masaaki Mochizuki’s 25th anniversary in wrestling, on January 16th Mochizuki will face Shuji Kondo.

Yoshida complained about more roll up, shut up tactics. He expected better of the Triangle Gate champions. He was sure there would be no complaints about adding a no flash pin stipulation to their title match in Fukuoka. Horiguchi told him he had no idea what being in his late 30s was like. Anyway, he was just being a sore loser. He pinned him 1-2-3, fair and square. Even with his backslide banned, Kzy & Susumu weren’t going to go down so easy. If he wanted to ban flash pins, that would also include the Candy Magic. Yoshida quickly backtracked.

KAI closed out the final Korakuen Hall of 2018 with a win over Hulk. Hulk is one of the top stars of Dragon Gate, so KAI sees no reason to stop there. He has appeared on one show or so per month since August. He wants to build on that, take his own spot on top and become the man of the year.
Doi reminded him that Dragon Gate wasn’t just BxB Hulk. There was YAMATO, Yoshino, Naruki Doi. There were still capable veterans and hungry rookies. If KAI wanted to carve himself out a spot he was welcome.

Doi thanked the Tokyo fans for their support throughout 2018. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the company. The first match has been announced but there are many more surprises in store for the fans.
